From 7:25 min + more about everything later on.

tl;dr Switch 1 version now (December) and Switch 2 version is something that they will look into in the future.

Never been much of a fan of the series. Life-sim is probably one of my least favorite genres. Add on QTEs and a story that ends on a cliffhanger for a sequel that likely will never happen. It all equates to being a tough sell.

Yep buying again. Hoping SEGA gets convinced to port the first 2.

Yeah maybe it should have been a trilogy on Switch 2 as the earlier games aren't that large. Well not if the keep to the original Dreamcast graphics.

Shenmue was one of the most amazing game experiences I've had in my life. When I first played it on Dreamcast many years ago my jaw dropped it was so amazing and I could forgive it the slow gameplay as the atmosphere was so immersive. I'm sorry to say the game has aged a bit especially when you have to slog through it now and there is no mystery about what is coming next. I loved the arcade games you could play within the game and also the forklift racing which I am enjoyed so much at the time. The characters were amazing and you felt like you were in 80s/90s Japan.

I feel a nicely tuned version of Shenmue with no long loading pauses could bring me back to the game for another play through if nothing else for nostalgia sake. I remember that huge fight where they just kept coming at you for quite a long period of time. I really loved that and also thought it was very funny. I'm not sure it was meant to be funny but it was for me at the time. I wish they could do Shenmue with no loading at all so it just seems seamless from one area to the next. I would of though easy to do nowadays. I may have remembered the Dreamcast spec wrongly but I remember it being something like 16MB of main memory and 8MB of video memory. The ARM chip was only like 200mhz and the GPU maybe less than 1 gflop or something like that. Yet the console provided a virtual world like Shenmue. I realise they even tried to achieve Shenmue on the Sega Saturn but it was frankly terrible from what I saw of it on youtube.

I'm a huge Shenmue I&II fan, I played them multiple times even when I was a teenager. I never played Shenmue III tho, because I didn't want to play it on a PC. I prayed for a Switch version ever since I got it. This is it, my last dream game on Switch. I don't need anything else but that, so I'll be all over it.
