I was in a predicament where I also didn't get to finish the first Xenoblade despite being close to the end (financial problems are a b**** and I had to sell my 2019 Switch along with all my games, sadface) and I am really looking forward to the 3rd game this month, but I have yet to play XC2, but in all honesty, the sheer amount of excessive fanservice heavily puts me off playing it, so if anyone would be so kind as to give me a small summary on how XC1 ends as well as XC2 I'd be very grateful
If anyone thought Nintendo games like Xeno wasn't fanservice you in the wrong gaming section. That should be the least of the concern here. If you want to see the ending go to youtube they have people whom finished it and you can watch it.
@TheC00MChalice
I don't have the time nor the energy to write down this huge story but I did some searching for you and found this video. In 25 minutes it goes through all the major story points of both XC and XC2 as well as Future Connected and Torna. It even goes into XCX at the end.
Mind you, this recap is very compact and misses a lot of the nuance of all the games. If you want to hear more of the story, try searching for more videos on YT and use terms like "story, analysis, explained,...".
I hope this was helpful.
Edit: this one is even better I believe, going much deeper into the lore.

So I'm not the only one, yes the other games had fanservice, but they were nowhere near the level of Pyra's giant boobs in front of your face 24/7, lol. The most the first game had was Sharla having...jiggles, but even then it was very mild and barely bothered me. As for X, I think it was just mainly the custom main character and was optional there.
But Pyra...ugh, she's the main reason I never got far and lost interest in the game. I also felt in general the game was just not as fun as the others.
Also yeah I still hate that Pyra got into Smash, lol

That's the reason I skipped XBC2 despite playing and loving the first two. I was so glad to see they'd booted the gross female character designs for XBC3.
Props to the person who posted the game summary, too.
XC2 is decent and enjoyable despite the heightened fan service factor (Believe me, gravity-defying boobs do nothing for me), though I'd rank the other Xenoblade games over it in many departments, including Torna. Pyra/Mythra are at least well-written characters IMO, so how stacked they are didn't bother me much. Some of the other Blades outside of Brighid....ehhh. The other titles had some form of fan service too, though not nearly on 2's level. I'd say XC[:DE] is the tamest, followed by XCX (character creation + Elma). Torna only uses a limited number of Blades, plus Mythra's outfit is less revealing compared to the base game.

Shulk essentially dies and has his body taken over by the Monado itself or something like that. It was a very long time ago so my memory is hazy. I read the synopsis for both games now though so I feel like I'm fairly caught up

Xenoblade 1 and 2's endings happen at the same time, taking place in alternate dimensions, caused by the good half of the final boss of 1, and both worlds collapse on themselves to create a new world. As for how we get to 3's world... we'll find out with you.

@Tremblucay I have yet to watch the full thing but the first 5 minutes I've watched seemed to be very concise and straight to the point so I will definitely look it over. It's been very helpful so far so much appreciated, buddy!

@TheC00MChalice Ah, so you made it pretty far then! Probably 2/3-3/4 through. That's where I'd say one of the biggest twists in the game occurs. Those synopses should bring you up to speed...at least on the finer points.
