Topic: Questions about Switch Lite as my 2nd Switch

Hello all. I have a regular Nintendo Switch and I am looking to buy a Switch lite along side it, I have a few questions though:

1. Will I be able to use the same account for both systems and have my digital games on both consoles?

2. Will I be able to keep my game saves across both consoles too?

3. Does anyone know if there are any downsides to playing breath of the wild and Pokemon let's go, I know that I won't be able to use the motion controls when capturing Pokemon but just wondering if there is anything else I will be missing out on

Thanks in advance!

1. Yes. An online check will be required when playing a digital game not on the primary console, so you'll probably want to make that the Lite, at least if you want to play games while not connected to the internet.

2. Yes, although you'll need an NSO subscription and some games (e.g. Animal Crossing) cannot share save games across consoles.

3. No. The Lite has motion controls and both games support it; you just have to move the whole console around rather than just the controller and, obviously, you can't move both controllers independently. There are a few games that aren't playable on the Lite at all because of this, but they should be marked on the box.

@Matt_Barber Thank you very much for the response. I did some research and found out that for the games that don't allow shared saves, you can send them over to the other switch and have it delete on the one that it was sent from, just wondering if I would then be able to send the save back again down the line if I decide I want to do that? For example I plan on sending my Pokemon save to my Switch lite, do you know if I would be able to then send it back if I eventually wanted it back on my main Switch?

@Ghostfacetoastface Unfortunately, Nintendo has made having 2, or more, consoles problematic. There are caveats. Ever since Switch launch, certain scenarios disappoint some people. Some people are fine with the rules/contstraints that come with having more than one switch. Some are not. It will come down to what you want & expect.
