Basically, Is there any way to use a USB-C to USB-C cable to display the nintendo switch on a screen?

I just got my switch the other day, so I don't know much about it... I see the dock has all my outputs on it, but if I wanted to use this while I'm mobile (laptop for instance) and get it on a bigger screen is there any way to display the nintendo switch on my laptop screen using a USB-C to USB-C cable? Or does it have to go through the dock? I'm not sure how much the dock actually does... Is it just a pass-through, or is there some amount of processing being done inside it? or is the extra power necessary from it being plugged in? Thanks

@Chibchub123 I think the dock guts are need for processing. If that's the case, I wonder if an hdmi to usb-c adapter could let you do what you want to do. I'll admit, I'm not a tech wiz, though. I don't know if hdmi to usb-c exists. Another smarty-pants here may know better.

I thought about the USB-C to HDMI option, and it would require 120vac output for the dock to function, right? I am looking for a way to get this to work where I don't have access to power. I love gaming, and finally got fed up with not being able to do any while I'm stuck at work just because of power constraints. I do have ways I can get power, but is it required for the dock to function, or only for the dock to charge?

If it does require power I can use 18v batteries to provide myself a bigger screen using an inverter... but that sounds like a big hassle. Thanks, might just be stuck playing on the tiny screen.

@Chibchub123 Actually, for clarification, I know the dock is needed to get a usable video output. You could say it's proprietary. If you wonder about a third party mod that lets you output video straight from the Switch ucb-c, I don't recommend it. For the first two years of the switch, people's switches were getting bricked by third party docks, and there were legal disputes.

I don't really want to deal with any third-party docks, I think I may just end up suffering through with the small screen. First world problems, y'know. My idea was basically using a power inverter with 18v tool batteries to power the dock, then using HDMI to USB-C to get the input over to my laptop or a portable monitor... Worst case was going to be using an HDMI Capture device. Now I need to find out the power draw from the Switch Dock and see how long it'd last on a nice big 18v battery.... the things I do for my hobbies. Haha.

Is there a problem you don't use the Dock. It does it's job without problems. I also invested in some Skull and Co and other for Docking options but would advise not to do what your doing. Doing so violates the EULA and voids any Warranty fix.
