When I am out and about, like at the park or at school, sometimes I am walking around holding my switch and my pro controller in my backpack. In order to connect the pro controller you just have to press any of the buttons and it will automatically try connect to your switch. I have a problem with this because in the middle of playing Mario Odyssey, I lose control of the game because my pro controller has connected to it. Is their any way to turn off your pro controller fully so it does not connect to your switch?

@Joyconboy47 I have run into this problem too, and annoyingly have no real answer for it. I have a case that I can wedge the controller into without pushing any of the buttons, but that really makes it take a lot more space in my bag.

I picked up the 8bitdo controller, which only turns on with a specific button press and I carry that in my bag now instead.

@Heavyarms55 I found a solution, just unsync your controller and sync it back when you want to use it again, Go to settings > Controller setting > scroll all the way down (I mean all the way) > Disconnected controllers > hold X

@Joyconboy47 Be careful, you cannot sync a pro controller without a dock. If you unsync it and bring it and your Switch with you but no dock, you can't sync it. Unless you happen to have a USB-C cable with the USB-C on both ends (as opposed to the more common ones that have regular USB on one end and C on the other). Because to sync a pro controller you will need to physically plug it in.
