edit: just to be clear the poll options are Nothing, 32GB internal storage is enough 64GB or less 128GB 200/256GB More than 256GB
Just curious about what capacity MicroSD cards people are thinking about using. I guess this could also become a discussion about storage expansion options.
The reason I won't buy one as big as possible is just the pricing. The moment it's viable for me to buy a big one with proper read speed (that's important) at a sane price I'll buy 256+, preferably over 512 if at all possible.
@Therad
I'm basically the same. Generally. But with Mario Kart and Splatoon coming soon after launch and rumours of Mario Maker, Animal Crossing, Pokemon and Smash? There are going to be plenty of games I'll want to download. That 32GB isn't going to last the full year.

I don't think i'm going to get one soon (or ever) because i prefer retail. If i will ever feel the need it will be not over 64 gb (even if at max possible speed) since it will be just for only digital games. Only things that can change this is huge third party games patches or something like Xenoblade X "speed datas", but i don't think this will be the case

All those games should be on cartridge. I will take a guess and say cartridges will have higher read-speed than SD-cards.
@Therad that is the thing I want digital foundry to test. I don't care about the flops and all, just the read speed being great and what I'll need to achieve it.
I want to do digital mostly due to the inevitable loss of game cartridges in my household. I'll be bummed if that means low read speed.
Will the switch support USB storage? If it does, I've got a TB driver here I could use, but as I'll mainly be retail for the Switch I guess it won't really matter.

They might but that wasn't the reason why I'd get those games digitally. The way I see it I'm always going to want to carry games like Mario Kart, Smash Bros and Animal Crossing. Those are spaces in a carrying case that will always be occupied. Unless I get them digitally.

Probably nothing at all. Games will be physical, for indie games I still have a PS4, and for the odd exclusive indie game once in a while, I don't think I need to buy a separate MicroSD card.
@SuperJoon if i remember well Nintendo said that initially HDD will not be compatible. Maybe they will with time, by the way the decision to me feels like "on the go oriented"
Presuming we get at least as much indie support as the WiiU has, I will delay till I need it then buy the best (not always the biggest) for under £100.
Switch games list,
Legend of Zelda BotW, Human resource machine, NBA Playgrounds, Street Fighter 2, Super Bomberman R, Snipperclips, Overcooked, World of Goo.
I'm getting all of my games are cartridge this time around, so I'll only need the storage for patches and the odd eShop title (not too big on those usually). So, I'm going with nothing until I have to get something. But when I do, honestly, I'll probably just go with 256 gigs to cover me for the life of the system.
I´ll probably go for 128 gbs, but it could be 64 gbs depending on the price. I buy most of my game physical, so 128 should cover me for most, if not all, of the system's life. But the price could be an issue - I haven't checked the price for microSD cards lately.
I don't plan to expand the default memory storage of 32 GB, because I intend to buy physical copies of video games for Nintendo Switch. That way, the internal memory will fill up only slowly. (VC games for old consoles, like SNES and N64, consume hardly more than a few Megabytes, so there is plenty of space for them). The only scenario in which I need to add more memory at some point is when WiiU games will be available for digital purchase on the new console.
Personally I think I'll get the 200GB SanDisk ultra micro SD. I personally think it's better to get something larger than what I need than something that may be possibly too small.
For the Wii U lineup, I only got about 8 games so if it was the same for Switch 128GB would probably be sufficient. The thing is we don't know what games are planned so we may end up needing a lot more storarage than we realize.
Considering Nintendo's sales projections for 2020, I would say they must have some ground breaking games planned and we will need the extra storage.
