Are there swap-able analog sticks for the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, dare I say would you be able to switch them. Or would it be compatible with Gamecube analog sticks (cuz we all love that c stick) This is just a minor curious question that some intelligible being may have the correct answer to.

My older brother pestered me for my Smash Bros Pro Controller because he was too cheap to get his own and I reluctantly gave it to him. Fast forward a few weeks later, I find that the Pro Controller's Left Analog stick is in terrible shape, either because of his thumb nail wearing it down or one of his cats who likes to chew on things.

So what should I do? I have a few options and I'm what is the best remedy for this situation.
1: Send in it for repairs for $50.
2: Buy a replacement Analog Stick for about $20 and either completely remove the old Stick or just replace the rubber pad/grip with the new one.

I also considered selling it in the future and I want to know how much it would affect the value with a description or disclaimer like, "left Analog Stick has been replaced with an original part". I'll be thankful for any input.

There's also the third option which is:
3: Straight up replace the entire controller by purchasing a new one (which is clearly last resort).

So what does anybody think I should do on this matter?

@Elvie take it back to where you bought and tell them its defective. It's still under warranty.

@SwitchForce They're not gonna take it back as defective when there's visible marks all over it.

@Elvie Is the function still good, and it's just comfort damage to the 'cap'? If that's the case, maybe those little joystick cap things would be a good stopgap and you could replace the stick later on.

@JackEatsSparrows Yeah, it still functions fine but the left stick is no longer presentable.

Also, I'm not sure what you mean by stopgap but I have been thinking about replacing the stick and it will take probably less than $20 to do so but I want to know if that's the best option and how much it would affect the resale value of the controller (in other words, a little to a lot).

@Elvie Oh, ok. Sorry, I glossed over that part but I see it now. If the replacement is like OEM, I can’t imagine it would drive the value much differently. In fact, it could even be a wash since that’s less hours on the original stick. My personal preference is always to replace parts that I can. If you’ve got the know-how, I vote for the stick replacement. Hope my two cents helps.
