Topic: Nintendo Switch not charging

Hello!

I have a big problem with my switch, as of today (the moment i realised it), my switch isn't charging anymore. I don't know the cause of this but I saw alot of videos showing the USB-C port being broken.

So I did a test. I plugged in the switch into the wall with the normal charging cable, didn't work. So I tried the dock. Did not work. Then I did the same thing with 2 different cables and still no luck.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I might do? I'm afraid that if I have to use the warranty on it they'll switch out the whole console for a new one.

You already broke the warranty by using custom firmware. I think the Switch is refusing the charger because of the firmware, but I’m no expert.

@GyroZeppeli I'm thinking this is not the issue. The firmware is not voiding my warranty it's perfectly fine, no worries there But the fact that i might've broken cause of it seems kinda.. Idk, i thought of that too but I don't know since I haven't used the dongle itself since i got the switch, i bought them together and used it on day one, then i just downloaded my emulators and such and since then it haven't been touched. It boots into the original firmware whenever i boot it up (for my own safety reasons). But as i said, it hasn't been touched for nearly 7 months now

@srosengren I’m guessing you didn’t read the EULA. Installing emulators and any other foreign software/firmware terminates your warranty, that’s how it has always been.

@CurryPowderKeg79 @GyroZeppeli Not to sound rude in any way at all. It's not the same as others. Anyway that's not what this post is about, and in some type of witchery the switch has fixed itself haha! Oh well, seems like it wasn't that big of an issue then

Not only that but asking for help on here will get this locked as they violated the TOS and EULA.

Adding custom firmware/emulators might've done something to mess up the charging, not entirely sure, however, that kind of stuff isn't acceptable for discussion, and since the issue is fixed, will just lock the topic.
