Topic: Nintendo eShop Sales and update

Hi,

I'm new to the nintendo ecosystem, the switch being the first nintendo system I personally own since... the NES. I owned other console trough the years and one thing I always loved were the store update and weekly sales. On Xbox Live these occur update on Mondays and the PSN it's some other day I don't remember. Is there such a thing on Switch? I mean I know there's update and sale but do these occur on systematic moment/days or are they a random thing and you just have to keep watching? I know the sales list end date but these seems to be all over the place which would suggest that these are fairly random. Is it the same for update with new content?

Finally my wife had a Wii (actually still does, somewhere...) and she had a couple (literally 2) virtual console games, are these linked to some kind of account so that she could potentially re-download or at least get a discount on if virtual console ever comes to the switch?

Thanks

It's on Thursday, usually around the afternoon, like 2PM BST or something. (last I remember anyway)
That's the usual eShop update but since Nintendo releases their retail games on Fridays, they also get released on the eShop on Fridays separately from the usual eShop update.
As for the Virtual Console, no unfortunately. Wii was never account based. The stuff could be transferred to a Wii U which does have an account system (although still system linked), and there were upgrades to Wii U versions of VC games, but it doesn't look like Nintendo's going to do that anymore with Switch. We'll see what happens though. They're going to reveal more details about their online subscription service soon in a matter of days.
