@Bolt_Strike Oh there's definitely going to be more to show this year, I just assume that they'd show the majority of it during the April Direct and therefore not need to do a June Direct. The September Direct would then show more of the games launching into next year like 3D Kirby or Luigi's Mansion 4.
For Robobot I somewhat agree. Return to Dream Land Deluxe is a bigger gap time wise, but I'd argue is a smaller gap visual/power wise than Robobot would be.

It's not even a bigger gap time wise. RtDL initially released in 2011 and Deluxe released in 2023, a 12 year gap. PR was released in 2016, it's only been 9 years. If they were to release PR after that same gap, it would release in 2028, not now. Which frankly feels like a better time for it anyway. Only 9 years and 1 console generation later feels too early for this.
@Bolt_Strike@IceClimbers I don't see them skipping summer event season in June, reliance on 3rd party announcements during that timeframe could backfire (especially if GTA6 isn't coming to Switch 2). I feel 1 month out of June and September would be a general Direct meanwhile the other is SMB 40th anniversary Direct with the order being dependent on the distribution of Mario releases in 2025/2026.
@Grumblevolcano Why would it backfire if they skip a June Direct? If they already reveal the 1st party lineup for Switch 2 for this year in the April Direct (which is what we're all expecting), why do they need to do a general Direct in June? At that point they can focus on marketing individual games releasing in the meantime, and then do a general Direct in September to reveal games releasing into the 1st half of next year.
In other words, if they do a general Direct in June, then you need to expect very few 1st party titles in the April Direct because they would need to have something for the June Direct.
I also don't think they'll do a 40th anniversary Direct either. I think it'll just be a dedicated Direct for the new 3D Mario game.
I was expecting nothing for a while now. There may not be an April game which is fine. But I'm sure something will come up next month to line up may. Potentially even the switch 2 itself with some banger launch titles.
There's eshop maintenance at that time (4:30 - 6am) so it's likely that when the eshop is back up after the maintenance, you won't earn gold points anymore.
@VoidofLight It's more than just one guy, but some are just saying Nintendo has some presentation planned for this week, and someone over on Famiboards was adamant about it being an Indie World (which is what I'd expect).
i could deffo see an indie world, @rallydefault! i think the switch direct rumors and the silksong rumours combined are pretty convincing, but we have been tricked in the past. anyways this would be awesome, even thought im stocked up on enough games until switch 2 😹😹😹 i do feel like they would save silksong for april 2nd, or wouldve revealed it earlier. guess the only thing to do is wait and see!
BRING NINJI INTO MARIO KART WORLD RIGHT NOW.

Nate and PH Brazil just backed up the Direct this week. Crazy to think we could have two directs in the next two weeks. Assuming one will be for Switch 1 and be shorter but stilly hype
Yeah so many leakers are saying this for some reason, and with Nate being one of them, I am choosing to believe it despite the questionable timing (similar to the questionable timing with Switch 2 reveal on the day of a 1st party release). I'm not getting my hopes up (it could just be a partner showcase), but I'd be really excited for a 1st party Direct (and so would my leftover Voucher!)
