@Reynoblade I agree but I think that's more about how disappointing Sword and Shield are rather than how great Lets Go is.

@BenAV aw I feel ya! I was so close to getting thru my backlog...but I keep getting sucked into buying new indies and I still gotta beat Paper Mario. I also perpetually want to dive back into Mario Odyssey and BOTW as I still got so much more to conquer in both.
What’ve you been playing lately?

@TexanSansei Hard doubt. The only thing they could possibly have lined up for a Zelda specific Direct that we haven't actually seen yet is a Skyward Sword Remaster or even a 35th Anniversary Collection, which isn't nearly enough to cover the length of even the Mario Direct we just had. Hyrule Warriors is probably going to get at least one or two more trailers and Aonuma basically said they're not ready to show anything from the BotW sequel yet. I predict another Partner Showcase and some more shadow drops on Twitter

Yeaaa think you’re right..

@Reynoblade I don't want to pay $60 for a 2.5D remake of Kanto with similar scale to the originals and blocky locations just like the originals, on the GAMEBOY. I don't want to pay $60 for a game that only has the original 151 Pokemon. I don't want to pay $60 for a game with forced motion controls.

$60 is twice the price of the originals on the Gameboy. Yet, there isn't any justification for that at all. Just "we can do it and people will buy it".

Sword/Shield were disappointing in many ways, but at least they were a new game. New Pokemon. New region to explore. Not an unambitious 2.5D remake of an over two decade old Gameboy game selling for $60.

@Northwind idk i just feel like people are always asking for whats next instead of just being satisfied with what we have and waiting patiently

@neogyo Mainly playing Ni no Kuni at the moment. Got it day one when it released on the Switch but there were way too many other games coming out around that time so it ended up in the backlog till now.

@Harmonie
I understand you didn't like Let's Go, and your points are fair, but I'd like to ask you the following: did you think the same way about Link's Awakening on Switch?

I don't know if anyone's already said this, but I noticed that all the recent announcements feel like a Direct just cut up by Nintendo, perhaps because they couldn't make some of the developer diaries or couldn't edit a substantial one in time. With Paper Mario, SMT V, Pikmin 3, Mario 3D All-Stars, 3D World, Mario Kart AR and Hyrule Warriors it feels like they had the Direct recorded, just decided to split it into a drip-feed of information. Just my observation, I guess.

There are multiple people speculating and "reporting" that there is still more to come out of this drip-feed, but I tend not to trust rumors. I'll be surprised and excited when I see it, as I have been these past few months.

@Varkster I reckon Nintendo didn't want to commit any games coming out this year with all the coivd stuff in case there's delays (including 2021 and 2022 games, in case a 2020 game is ready to go but can fill a future line up shortage) so they held off a big Direct and released induvial game trailers when they know for sure it's good to go.

@jump Could be possible, especially given that cartridges are much harder to produce than discs, there probably aren't half the companies who can make Switch game cartridges as there are companies that can make game discs. Would explain the bizarre reveal schedule.

@Reynoblade I have a fairly similar opinion about it (except slightly less negative because I don't think there is a threat of it becoming a trend in the Zelda series, unlike Pokemon). Here's one of my comments on it from a year ago when it released:

"It looks cute, but at the end of the day it is just a straight 2.5D remake of a Gameboy game, and there's no way in heck I'm paying $60 for that."

Reynoblade

@Harmonie
I understand your point of view, I really do. But I hope you realize there're plenty of people, including me, who like these remakes and are happy to pay full price for them. And there's nothing wrong with that. If you like something, you pay for it, if you don't like something, you don't buy it. Simple as that.

@Giancarlothomaz
No point in linking to another website when Nintendo Life has made an article about this topic as well.

@Reynoblade Well, you see, I have very low standards for enjoying a mainline Pokemon game. And even then, LGP/E are well below those standards.

There are a lot of times where I'm willing to just move on and not buy something I don't care for, but I have enjoyed every pair of Pokemon games since the beginning, and having a pair of Pokemon games come out that were so poor of quality was really quite a thing after nearly two decades of playing Pokemon. I mean, I even could play through Sword/Shield. If a pair of Pokemon games comes out that is so bad even I won't play it, there is a problem. Lol.
