Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

@Grumblevolcano Yep that pretty much proves it false. Anyone could have come up with this week for an indie Direct but getting the actual day right is what makes it breaks said rumours. And more often than not, they just get lucky with the week but nothing else.

Welp so much for the rumor. I'm definitely looking forward to this. Hoping for Sports Story to be dated, and Axiom Verge 2 or Silksong as well would be amazing. Last December's had some great titles (OddWorld, Talos Principle, Survivalists), so I'm hopeful for another good showing.

Sometimes Indie games are better than typical AAA games.
I have some of Switch / PS4 indie games in physical release.

The 18th was just a guess date they placed. They basically said it would be this week so their guess was right for the most part. If we want to get nitpicky, it’ll be the 18th in many areas of the world, including Japan, so yeah.

Cool, so that rumour was true. Real Direct either next Tuesday or Thursday!

A Hollow Knight: Silksong release date and another Indie-Nintendo colab could be present. Not getting too hyped but it has some definite potential.

I don't think the fact they got the wrong day means anything. They got the right week and the fact it would be Indie World before regular Direct.

I think that means the rumour is correct.

Yeah, I'm disappointed that there's an indie event before the real deal, but if this does indeed signal that the rumour is true (and with it being the 18th in Japan, you can't really say even the date was wrong), I'll take it.

With respect, I really hope the vast majority of this Nindies Direct is about previously unannounced games. We all know those games are coming, because they've been in previous Directs. Release dates are for Twitter... I hope.

I don't know if constant unfounded hyping counts as "more pleasant" really, but welcome anyway!

Hoping for a Silksong release date. Hollow Knight is one of my favorite indie games in recent memory, so I can't wait to see more from its sequel!

It seems like a bad idea to follow a community for something where you have zero information about the next game. GTA6 could be 3 or 4 years off for all we know. At least with Nintendo, we knew there was a 95% chance there'd be a Direct in the first 3 months of the year.

@Dezzy I'd say this place is handling the wait for a Direct better than the internet is for PS5 and that is something that you'd expect would've been revealed in the first 3 months of the year based on the past. Whether the silence is due to coronavirus, a very strong PS4 Q2 2020 or something else who knows.

@Dezzy I fully expect there to be an entire Pikmin 4 section on Reddit entirely run by @Octane where he hypes himself up constantly over the game and replies to himself on an hourly basis

I think they're deliberately holding the main PS5 reveal until after Last of Us and Tsushina have both released. It might overshadow them to some extent.

After all I was right about Nintendo deliberately holding the Direct until after Animal Crossing released! Publishers do think like that. They want their fans focusing on 1 particular thing at a time, rather than just bombard them with 1000 things.

@gcunit Honestly I get it usually I'm the same way, but at the same time those three titles I requested in particular are sequels to some of my favorite Switch titles in general, so I'm making an exception. But yeah, I want primarily new stuff too, luckily most stuff from the past is already out.
