New Tales From the Borderlands just released alongside Persona 5 Royal, and a day after Mario Rabbids Sparks of Hope.

For this reason it's kind of gotten ignored. But I bought it and played about 2 hours so far, and I must say. This game is really good. I do recommend it.

Switch version looks impressive. There are some issues where textures can take a second to fully load in for some scenes. But aside from that it's gorgeous, high resolution, no framerate issues, quality audio, and above all, a surprisingly fun game.

It's developed by Gearbox as a sequel to the Telltale spinoff. But this one is pretty different. Everything is 3D modeled and there are sections where you control the characters and move around, scan for secrets, loot safes, talk to ppl, etc.

The humor is insanely good. It's hard to put the game down once you pick it up. It's consistently kept me enthralled in its story.

Anyone else pick this up?

I was considering it as I did enjoy the first game. But after I read some impressions on how it doesn't match how good the writing was in the first game and how there's a severe lack of Borderlands in this Borderlands game, I cancelled my preorder. There are so many Square Enix rpgs coming out here at the end of the year that I'd rather put the $50 towards one of those.

I haven't played the first game (though the version I bought did include it) but I'm seriously loving it so far.

I still need to finish the first game, started it awhile ago on PS4 but got distracted by other games. I do enjoy the Borderland series, so I will pick this up at some point, probably when it's on sale.
