Topic: Need help with identifying joy con color

Hey, I recently bought a used switch, and I'm confused whether this joy con is the usual neon red that comes with standard blue/red switch or neon pink? It looks weirdly pink to me. What do you think?
Thanks in advance!

@Backslay hard to tell for the photo as lighting may be a factor. At a glance it doesn't look like the Neon Red, as that has more of an orange tint to it. But it also looks too red to be Neon Pink. I do lean towards the latter though.

It might be better to send a screenshot of the controller menu with your joycon connected? That way we can get a more objective view of the colour.

At least 2'8".

It tells me I am not authorized to see the photo.

@Buizel It shows up as usual red in the controller menu, could the joy-con be simply faded?

@k8sMum I don't really know how to fix that, I rarely use imgur

@Backslay As in the Neon red? There is a (non-neon) red joy-con but it has a darker tone AFAIK (I've never owned it myself).

I was going to suggest sun damage tbh. The printing on the back looks quite faded.

@Buizel it sadly doesn't say the color name with words, but it looks like standard red, like you usually see on a default switch in promo material.

It's still very weird to me though, the joy-con looks very pink in real life, and on the box it's very close to orange

In real life it looks like the color #ef154f

Looks like Neon Red to me. I have a couple of Neon Red/Blue pairs, 'cos my first set had drift and such. Though both of my pairs were bought later, I have the left one red and the right blue. Oddly I think if you buy a Switch that comes with red/blue, they're the other way around.

To me it looks a little too dark to be the Neon Red, but it's a bit hard to tell from that picture. Knowing what colour the other Joy-con is could be a clue, as I think the Neon Red and Blue are always sold as a pair.

@CinnamonRobin Very early in the Switch's cycle Nintendo in the U.S. marketed paired sets of neon blue and neon red, so you could have an all-blue or all-red setup. I bought gray at launch, so I went that route to add the other colors.
