So my theory is that the reason Nintendo is taking these games off the shelves on March 31st is most likely a smart way to get more money. So if something everyone has been wanting like, Super Mario 3D All Stars, and The new Game and watch, Nintendo's idea is to take it off the shelves soon so it will make sure that they buy it. But why would they need the money? My theory is that they're making something BIG, and I mean BIGGER than Bowser's Fury or 3D All-Stars. Maybe even the new 3D Kirby game. Or even a new Console. But mostly I think they are planning something big, or maybe not idk.
I think it's as simple as ,"Nintendo being Nintendo." They feel that having the special event games available for too long somehow devalues that IP's worth. So, if they cease making them available, they retain value. On the surface level it makes zero sense to take away value from the eShop, but that's just how Nintendo rolls sometimes. They're a Japanese company and they have a different perspective on how they should conduct their business.
I feel that the delisting of Mario 35th, Fire Emblem, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy on March 31st isn't prelude to anything...more special.

I thought it was about idea, but it was just about stating obvious...

https://www.change.org/p/anmtvla-pokemonlatam-español-latino-en-los-juegos-de-pokémon - let's help this petition for Latin American Spanish be add to Pokémon games and with that may increase chance that in future Pokémon games adds more languages. :)
I think they're removing it so the focus and sales can go to Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury for those year instead. I don't think they want to split the Mario platformers market between too many games.
The Mario 35 decision is odd, but I think no longer selling the 3D collection is linked to releasing N64 games on NSO. Mario 64 becomes available via NSO and Sunshine + Galaxy become available standalone.
There's a level of "clever money making follow-up scheme" people keep expecting from this that isn't actually happening and people should stop pretending its anything beyond what it is.
i don't see anything big coming out of this. will probably see Fire Emblem on Nintendo Switch Online some point, and will probably see Super Mario 64 and maybe Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy if Nintendo even plans to release Gamecube and Wii games on Nintendo Switch Online. you never know what Nintendo has up in their sleeves.

It'll be interesting to see what Nintendo's angle is after March 31. But will they make us wait until June/e3 time, or later☹, to reveal the next move? Let the crappy waiting begin
@MetalToad that explains the date it ends, not why it’s ending though. It’s not like they take Breath Of The Wild or Splatoon 2 off sale because it’s the end of the financial year.
@jump it’s ending because it sounds like it’s limited which makes it sound like low supply which makes people buy it even tho there’s plenty. There’s so much stock here in uk
You do realize we're talking about the digital versions of these games, don't you?

My theory is that 3D Mario All Stars is going to be replaced with something like a 3D Zelda All Stars (OoT, MM and maybe Wind Waker?) or a Metroid Prime Trilogy - and they will also be time-limited.
This is going to be a regular thing, and several of Nintendo’s best-loved series are going to be repackaged in this way. Is my guess.
And we will eat it up. (At least, I’ll jump on a Prime trilogy. Might skip Zelda, as I have OoT and MM on 3DS.)
