@MetalToad That actually does serve as a solution-of-sorts to my question. The Wii was two generations ago now and they still allow access to purchases from then, if nothing else. That's pretty good, as we haven't been told they're taking that totally away from us anytime soon.

If all I have to be concerned about is an outdated demo, perfect. And I do apologise to people if I've bugged them by speaking what's on my mind. I really wasn't trolling. I'm wary is all.

I don't understand the motive for delisting. Once a game has been released it should be available forever. Delisting is anti-consumer and evil.

@Minecraft_Master 100% agree. Delisting is bull. In this instance, though, it’s specifically a beta test that has been delisted. Not sure that warrants the same soul-searching and antagonism.

Also, not sure why the Wii eShop has been accepted as a solution to the original issue, but to each their own, I guess.

It is an interesting point, though. How long will the Wii service last? Which will go first: Wii legacy support or 3DS legacy support? Given the Wii’s legs (is there another Ubisoft dance title out this year?), I’d wager that the Switch eShop support will last a long, long time in digital terms. 10 years from today? 15 years? But, for sure, it will eventually end.

I suppose with free demos, particularly early ones, if the publisher feels they no longer represent the product they're selling, they have the right to "protect their sales" and completely remove the demos from whatever storefront they're using to distribute them. It's not like anyone paid for the right to play them, so there's nothing to protect the customer from.

There's not much we can do about it. So, yes, let's remain calm and cordial.
