@Octane And each area‘s arc is something I absolutely adore about Sunshine. However, the fact that they felt the need to put up signs to show people the way and even showing the goal during the introduction screen to each level cannot be outbalanced by them. Back in 64, you were only given hints in the mission title. Each world would begin with simple tasks like climbing a mountain side before going into more mystery territory that legitimately got me stuck here and there as a kid who just came from completing Sunshine for the first time. I‘m not offended by them showing me the way but that they give younger players training wheels instead of teaching and then testing them is such a big offense to me. I mean, how are they ever supposed to get better when you always tell them exactly what to do and how to do it? That‘s not just an issue in Sunshine but with many more Nintendo games. And I get why they do it - they don’t wanna frustrate and then turn away potential future customers. I respect that but that‘s not how I‘d raise kids or give kids lessons. Hopefully I won‘t ever have to that, though, lol.
At the end, this is just the ramblings and rantings of a 22 years old about sign posts in a videogame. I like Sunshine a bit more than 64 at the end. The beautiful Isle Delfino, the worlds‘s story arcs and overall easier difficulty. But I‘ve always appreciated 64 for letting its players figure stuff out on their own and explore the worlds (mostly) without boundaries. And that‘s something I‘ll certainly appreciate in Odyssey, too.

Fortunate enough to get the game delivered yesterday. No Spoilers - played around 2 hours last night, barely scratched the surface but for me this is everything i wanted it to be, it looks and sounds fantastic, can't wait to play more today.
@Grumblevolcano I've never had a problem with pre-orders from Amazon in the UK. In fact Super Mario Odyssey despatched yesterday afternoon. Is it a location thing that they struggle to get to you or something?

@G0dlike
I wanted to be special too but mine was with Nintendo uk pre ordered in June and dpd tracking says Friday afternoon.
Gonna line up for the midnight launch
@1UP_MARIO Generally you want to use a company that uses Royal Mail first class. The ones using tracked delivery will have a guaranteed Friday delivery, but the first class ones usually despatch on a Wednesday.
My mate's copy from thegamecollection.net has arrived.
I'm lol at these people who pre ordered online seemingly thinking they would get the game before the midnight release.. i know a lot of people are getting the game early but i would never order online with an expectation of being able to play asap
@GoldenGamer88 I get what you're saying. I don't think the intro scene takes away all of the mystery. It usually only shows the location of the star, it sets a goal. I don't think that's wrong by itself. Episode 8 of Gelato Beach and episode 2 of Noki Bay come to mind, the intro shows you the location, but getting the star is rather complicated.
At least it's not as bad as offering invincibility if die enough times
We shall see how Odyssey handles it. I haven't seen a lot of gameplay, so I think I'm in for a surprise. The game can arrive at any moment!
Awesome news! Not that it bothered me, but I'll always applaud more options. Especially since many people probably have difficulty with motion controls
@Tsurii - There is a tutorial very early on in Odyssey where i couldn't find an alternative to motion controls. not a big issue but the only way i could get cappy to do the move was to move the console (playing in handheld)
