@JaxonH Agreed. I honestly don’t like how everybody gets mad at company’s for doing the best they can do during COVID just because it’s not as good as a normal year. Imho, 2020... is one of Nintendo’s best years. There’s a lot of good quality games.

@JaxonH I think the pandemic will have affected 2021's Switch lineup more than 2020. 2020's lineup was probably always planned to be on the light side given Nintendo was mostly silent about 2020's lineup even before the pandemic happened and Nintendo's setup seemed to be odd years focused on new games, even years focused on ports/remasters/remakes.

If people have a differing opinion then they need to argue the point rather than try to dismiss others opinions by labeling them into an irrational box, “ Oh this person never complains (which is factually ignorant anyways) ergo their opinion is invalid“

Because that’s what you’re essentially doing right now. What exactly is it that I have said that makes my opinion any less valid than yours? Or is your opinion only valid if you meet a quota of complaining? So automatically anyone who disagrees with a complaint, their opinion is invalid because obviously only complaints are valid? This tired old cliche of a rebuttal needs to get buried in the back along with “Yo mama” and “I know you are but what am I”.

Let’s take the sixth grade logic back to grade school where it belongs, and if you want to have an adult conversation, address me personally and address my point directly rather than try to relegate my opinion as irelevant by strawmanning. Learn how to debate. Too many juveline quips taking potshots at arguments they can’t contend against. The other person countered complaints DIRECTLY. They explained why they disagreed and why they didn’t understand it. Just because they addressed me with their post doesn’t mean I automatically share their opinion, as should have been made clear by my response which elaborated on my exact thoughts on the matter. But whether you agree with them or disagree with them, AT LEAST they made a viable argument. At least they addressed the argument and didn’t strawman. That’s more than can be said for your response.

By refusing to engage with the actual argument itself, and instead trying to discredit your opponent by misrepresenting both them and their arguments (ie strawmanning) you only serve to show your own ignorance and intellectual impotence.

So I’m not allowed to enjoy Nintendo games on a Nintendo-based website? I am excited for this game. I accept that other people aren’t and I get that. But I didn’t see anybody casting hate on the game when it was rumoured and I’ve seen some people who were excited and hopeful now hating it. I just was curious why, I never said it wasn’t a valid opinion. All opinions are valid, so please can everyone just let everyone have their own opinions?

So guys, let me attempt to diffuse.

LetsaGo, I don’t think BabyYoshi is saying people can never complain. If I’m wrong in that assumption then by all means correct me, But I think what they’re saying is that with regard to this particular complaint, they don’t understand it. Which is fair. They made a fair point to back up their statement as well- that people were generally excited for it before it was announced. Now, I do think that’s not the most sound argument because people could have different expectations but at the very least, it’s an argument that’s backing up their opinion . There’s always two sides to every issue, and it should not come as a surprise that some people feel that a complaint over this particular issue isn’t warranted. That’s a fair assessment all around. I don’t see their opposition to this particular criticism as being an attempt to suppress all criticism everywhere.

BabyYoshi, I don’t think them complaining about it will impact your enjoyment (or mine, for that matter). While I personally don’t really see anything worth complaining about, if some people feel certain aspects aren’t up to scratch I can totally understand where they’re coming from. I don’t share that opinion but I can definitely empathize with that opinion. And I think it’s fair game if they want to criticize aspects they don’t like. And I’m sure you’ll agree with that.

So hopefully now that things have been clarified we’re all on the same page.

If they were referring to someone else, then I retract my statement and apologize. Though its hard to interpret it as referring to anyone else, given the context of replying to BabyYoshi’s response to me.

I... think you’re probably right.

I imagine 2021 got shifted. H2 2021 games got shifted to 2022, while H1 2021 games got shifted to H2. While at least some H2 2020 games got shifted to H1 2021 (Mario 3D World, Bravely Default 2, Pokemon Snap), with pre-made ports at the ready to plug the gaps (Pikmin 3, Mario 3D All Stars) and shifting at least 1 H1 2020 game (Paper Mario) into the start of H2.

Overall, very little effect on this year due to having games at the ready to plug the gaps. But next year will be affected. I still think they’ll have a strong lineup because they are shifting some games into next year, and they probably have at least two more ports they can use to plug gaps with (Xenoblade X, Metroid Prime Trilogy, fingers crossed!), but I think it would be prudent to expect the worst just in case.

@Octane I think Zelda only needs about a dozen more amiibo to catch up to Link. Archer Zelda, 8-bit Zelda, Equine Zelda, cell-shaded Zelda...

@JaxonH @LetsaGO Oh. Um... not sure what happened... but I didn’t say never complain. I just didn’t understand why all the complaining started after the announcement. If people were complaining before I wouldn’t be asking. But they weren’t. At least not on this site. I was just curious. It won’t effect my enjoyment, I am just a curious person. All opinions are valid. 😃

It's not the same thing expressing your opinion than calling people out for doing so, like some people here do. I was not addressing you specifically because I don't know you and it wasn't my intention to offend anyone but reading again your post you said, "I honestly don’t like how everybody gets mad at company’s...", that's not just an innocent opinion as your last activist post suggests.

That’s so far from the truth it’s laughable, and everyone here knows it. It’s absolutely ludicrous, in fact. I have to question whether you actually believe it or if that’s just the lie you tell yourself to justify how you behave. And if you do actually believe it, then I question your judgment, and so should everyone else.

If any definitive statement could be made it’s that I am always reasonable (unless you consider having a different opinion than you unreasonable, which you probably do), and you always lash out toward and indirectly attack anyone who dares dispute your almighty opinion, by attempting to assassinate their character. Always indirectly with backstabbing potshots by responding to someone you know will give you a back pat, of course.

Okay. I’m done with this conversation. I was asking a question and it backfired. So let’s move on.

@JaxonH I'm guessing we'll get a similar Zelda 35th anniversary celebration to the Mario 35th anniversary. So like Zelda Battle Royale replaces Mario Battle Royale, a limited availability Zelda collection (e.g. OoT, MM, Skyward Sword), Zelda Wii U ports, etc. Maybe end the celebrations with BotW 2 launching holiday 2021 or something like that.
