@Grumblevolcano Hopefully we'll all find out soon if all these games get ported to Switch

@Anti-Matter sunshine is easier if you don’t 100% it

Champions road is the hardest without the tanooki suit. The perfect run is a close second

@1UP_MARIO Oh yeah, I forgot about it! Super Mario 3D World also has its good share of challenge. Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 have a few stars that combine motion controls and jumping that I hate.

The ones that need a remake the most are Super Mario 64 and Sunshine. I just completed Super Mario 64 (again), the game is still great fun and balanced but the camera is bad and when you turn Mario it's like he looks everywhere before completely turning, like a bit robotic when turning, not always but often. Of course, an awesome game for being the first 3D platformer. Super Mario Sunshine controls are much better but a way to track blue coins down easily and some gameplay tweaks would be definitely welcome. The Galaxy games should get rid of motion controls and Super Mario 3D World should get rid of the touch the screen nonsense.

EDIT: About the latest game, I have never got all the moons of Super Mario Odyssey because I get bored after a while.

@BlueOcean I actually liked them levels in super Mario Galaxy. The level designs in 2 were amazing and still great to play today. The motion ones your talking about are the flip panel platforms, it worked great with the Wii.

I love super Mario 64 and I feel if they reworked it, it just wouldn’t feel like super Mario 64. I think the controls are great maybe I’m just used to it as I play 64 the most out of all the marios. The camera is not the best but imagine they made 64 in the odyssey engine. The game would be completely easy. Tick tock clock wouldn’t be a challenge.
The best I want for 64 port on switch would be widescreen. Basically the pc port but give us scanlines and 60fps.
Knowing Nintendo it will be bare minimum

@1UP_MARIO The flip panels were fine and not that hard but do you remember wall jumping while shaking the Wii Remote for the walls to switch position with a death pit below? That's a nightmare.

I agree about Super Mario 64 but they could make a good camera and ramp the difficulty up somehow. I think that it's still the best Mario 3D game, the most fun to complete and the most balanced between platforming and exploration. I wish it had a few more songs.

Yes, knowing Nintendo it will be bare minimum...

@BlueOcean wow, I just wanna go re-play it now. That was the level before the perfect run. That was one of the best levels of the game. Made full use of the wiimote. Galaxy 1 had the story but they upped the difficulty in 2

Had a lot of great galaxies in 2 upside down Galaxy was also a favourite

@WoomyNNYes different but I’m not fully sure. Maybe someone can confirm

@WoomyNNYes @1UP_MARIO

Super Mario 3D World and Captain Toad Treasure Tracker share engine but Super Mario Odyssey shares similarities like 60 FPS and no anti-aliasing (anti-aliasing is added to screenshots https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2017-super-... Not much has changed visually. No stunning effects in Super Mario Odyssey or anything else that Super Mario 3D World didn't do. I think that the engine is the same but updated.

@BlueOcean Dude that's not how engines work. Every engine has options for anti-aliasing, and frame rates are all about optimization, not engine.

I mean, it's quite possible that the games were built in the same engine, but keep in mind Wind Waker, Pikmin and Super Mario Sunshine all use the same engine. Knowing the engine is meaningless here.

@1UP_MARIO If Super Mario 64 ever does get remade, I hope it doesn't look like that.

1UP_MARIO

@link3710 I agree. It just wouldn’t feel like or play like super Mario 64. Id still say it looks impressive for a fan project.

@link3710 Yes, dude.

@1UP_MARIO That Cool Cool Mountain looks great and the new music sounds better. It feels different for sure but I like it.

@BlueOcean yea out of all of his Mario 64 work. Cool cool mountain did look the best. I agree with the music.

Octane

@1UP_MARIO Looks pretty bad if you ask me. Especially Sunshine, that looks awful.

jump

^Yeah, the water effects just don't work and it's too much of a comprise in a game which has loads of water in it.
