Got my Switch a few days ago. Plugged in the charging cable with the console out of the dock for the first time today, and immediately noticed that there’s a lot of play. The charging cable essentially wiggles back and forth while plugged into the Switch console. This doesn’t seem to interrupt the connection.
Is this normal? I was expecting a pretty snug fit.
No, that isn't normal. When I have the cable plugged into mine it is nice and snug, a perfect fit. You said you just got the Switch? Take it back and have them swap it for you. Better to do it soon and not wait for it to break completely and have the store blame it on you and refuse you.

Took the console to a store 150 miles from where I bought the first one. Tested two models: a greyscale like mine, and one with red and blue joycons. Checked both the console and the charging cable.
Turns out they all do it. Every single one had some play once the charging cable was plugged in.
@Ryzaerian Sorry I hope this isn’t annoying to ask but, are you sure this is normal because there is nowhere else I found online that touches on this subject.
Is it still ok have experienced or heard anything else about it?
