Hi, so I've noticed when playing pokemon shield, there a few lines at the top of my switch screen.

This only to happen when I'm playing pokemon shield and it only happens in the overworld not in the menus or anywhere else and it seems to change sometimes the lines are longer sometimes there arent any at all but I'm just curious as to what it could be or if it's anything to worry about. My game is a physical copy.

Here is a link to the image hopefully you will be able to help me! Thanks!

@Dannyhill191192 For clarity, and anyone else reading, I see faint, diagonal, dark lines. And the photo is of the Switch handheld/lcd screen. Is this a Switch or Switch Lite screen? Putting the game name in the thread title might get you better, more targeted attention, since your issue is specific to Pokemon.

Almost looks like artifact-ing, but I'm not sure I've never seen compression artifact-ing on a diagonal grid. But I won't say it's impossible. (I don't have pokemon to test this specific scenario.)

Hi sorry for not being too clear my mistake, where the tree is too left theres some bright lines right at the top.

The diagonal lines you've mentioned I cant see whatsoever on the actual switch so I think that might just be the photo.

@Dannyhill191192 Your description was decent. But for troubleshooting purposes, I was making sure to pin down specifics (it may not have been necessary 🤪)(the dark lines were probably camera created. A result of taking a picture of a screen, possibly tough to avoid)

Oh, I see, the three or more white lines at the top edge of the screen, where the tree is (as you said). have seen that with a game before. I know I've seen a similar effect watching tv. I bet a Digital Foundry guy would know how to explain it. Those lines may be normal for that game resulting from an image proccess that exposes the edge of the image. That issue doesn't indicate something wrong with your game copy.

Just in case you don't know what Digital Foundry is. They're game devleopes that make videos analyzing preformace of new games. (disregard if you know who they are)

@Dannyhill191192 The lines always just appear in Sword/Shield for some reason, there is nothing wrong with your switch 😁

Currently Playing: Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and whatever else I feel like playing

Thanks for the replies! There was nothing on my screen at all yesterday when I was playing so I think I'm just going to put it down as something that just happens with the pokemon games...
I just wanted to clarify my switch wasnt screwed especially as with the current situation it's near impossible to buy new ones!

Thanks for the help
