Earlier on i had a prompt to inform me my left Joy Con was nearly dead and my console was on 98 percent battery (even though i havent been playing its been stored in my backpack) so i put my console into sleep mode and put it in the dock in order to charge both console and left Joy con. A couple of hours later i turned on my console in handheld mode as expected console was at 100 percent but the system wasnt even acknowledging that the left joy con excisted i pressed all the buttons nothing disconnected it and slid it back in nothing. I clicked a little circular button on the inside of the controller and it turned back on after trying everything. Before trying that i was planning on going to game tomorrow and ask about sending it off to nintendo. What could of possibly happened for that to happen?/what happened?

Probably just a defective joy con, if you look it up others have had the same left joy con issue

Nintendo support will take care of it when you call and send them in

Its not a issue that others have had from what i have seen. The only problems i can find regarding left joy cons is the issue where characters will keep moving dor a few seconds after the person has stopped touching the analogue stick. What is the purpose of the small circular button i clicked because it got it working whatever its purpose.

Just looked into it and i basically resynched my left joy con. Is their any reason in particular why the joy con just randomly desynched?

This exact same thing happened to me just this morning. Turned on the Switch just fine, pulled out the Joy Cons and pressed a button on both to turn them on, but the left one stayed off. Tried pressing other buttons, tried putting it back in the Switch and taking it out again, and tried changing the controller order and nothing. Then I pressed the circular button on the rail and it turned on and worked just fine. No idea what caused it though, unfortunately.

Very odd @topazlink this machine just seems to cough up little problems like this from time to time. Its like i dont understand why my Switch was at 98 percent battery when i put it in my bag at 100..
odd

@NickWba20 my guess is the switch was trying to charge your left joy con

the switch it self uses its own battery to charge the joy cons even off the dock
