OMG I've just worked out for the first time ever how much I need for my switch at launch

Console £279.99
Zelda £59.99
1,2 switch (don't ask, we need a party game here). £39.99
Fast racing rmx £20.00
Joy-con bundle. £79.99
Carry case £19.99

That's a whopping £500 ( how much do you get for a soul on eBay nowadays? I know in 2004 it was £18.50)

I haven't spent £500 at a launch since the N64 when I was 14

That doesn't include world of goo, little inferno. Or any other games I am going to get

I was thinking of getting snipperclips too but maybe I should wait till march 10th and get the joy-con bundle then with the snipperclips download code.

Console: $470
SE Zelda: $190
Tempered glass screen protector: $25

Total: $685

I was going to get a Joycon set but I decided to cancel for the moment to see if we get the bundle with Snipperclips.

@Meowpheel dollars.... I'm talking UK pounds.

£500 UK pounds is 12,408.96 Mexican pesos or 623 us dollars

I noticed that. I was just mentioning the pricing here.

However, for your budget I could certainly add a game and a half.

I got curious and checked the prices for the accesories...

One big game $80, one cheaper game $60, charging grip $50, extra joy cons $130~, or $80 for one... Pro controller $125.

Sheeesh. I shouldn't have done that.

@gamermole Where are you buying your Switch goodies from? You could save quite a few pennies by shopping around. For example:
BotW: £44.85 at Simply Games
Joy-Con sets: £69.99 at Base
1 2 Switch: £34 at Tesco Direct

That's a saving of £31.13. You could save yourself a further £5 by ordering a Switch and Joy-Con bundle (£344.98) from Tesco Direct.

Total price: £463.82 compared to your current £499.95. It pays to shop around (there might be better deals; that was a quick search).

I didn't want to add it up, to preserve my lack of shame but here we go.

Amazon switch $300
Midnight launch switch for bf $300
LE Zelda $100
Pro controller $70
Deciding between rmx / snipperclips and bomber man soooo $40/$50

$810-$820 plus tax would probably push it up to around $900.

Oh Geez... I'm going to have to save up so much money to make up for all this spending.

Switch: $300
ME Zelda: $130
FAST RMX: $20
Snipperclips: $20
Total: $470

If I'm crazy enough I might buy an extra set of Joy-Con (Blue) OR a Pro controller if any are in stock when I get to my local Gamestop. I'm interested to see how roomy the Switch Backpack is too because it would be neat if I could I use it as a multi-purpose bag.

Grey switch and BOTW - £290 as i traded a couple of old games in. Do you really need all the added extras? Each to their own but you can only play one game at a time.

Farmboy74

Switch £279.99
Pro Controller £59.99
Zelda £49.95
Super Bomberman R £39.95
Bigben travel case £19.85

Total cost £449.73

The same amount I spent on the PS4 player edition at launch.

Akropolon

I don't think I've ever spent this much on a console launch. Prices are in euro's.

330 Nintendo Switch
080 Extra Joy-Con Set
070 Pro Controller
015 Comfort Grip
025 Travel Case

065 Breath of the Wild
020 BotW Season Pass
050 1-2 Switch
050 Super Bomberman R
020 Snipperclips
020 Fast RMX

745 in total. No regrets. And I'm getting Snake Pass when it's released, I Am Setsuna probably sooner than later (depending on the price).

Grumblevolcano

If I was to get a Switch at launch it would be:
£280 - Console
£65 - Pro Controller
£20 - Carry Case
£90 - BotW Limited Edition
£20 - BotW Expansion Pass
£20 - Fast RMX

Total = £495 (note some of these things I don't remember the GAME price for so could be a bit less)

And maybe some more games if Tuesday's presentation reveal more interesting stuff (would probably get Shovel Knight later on or keep the Wii U version as my main version whereas Fast RMX does have Switch exclusive content.)

However the most likely situation so far is this alternate setup:

£50 - Breath of the Wild Wii U

Total = £50

Haruki_NLI

Nintendo Switch Neon - £279.99
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - £59.99

Snipperclips: Cut It Out, Together! - £19.99
F.A.S.T RMX - £19.99
Nintendo Switch Carry Bundle - £16.99
Nintendo Switch Pro Controller - £59.99

Total Day 1 Switch Investment - £456.94

Which is around the equivalent cost for my Wii U, PS4 and PS3 to get those to the equivalent levels.

All in all not that bad.
