Alright so as of November 2019 I got the limited time Pokemon let's go Pikachu switch and 2 years later my left joycons L button stopped working so I got a new one in July 2021 and not the same problem occurred today I was even extra careful because of what happened with my other joycon and I don't wanna buy another left joycon as they are like 50$ each. why does this keep happening and what can I do to preventing this from getting even worse and if possible I can fix it without opening up the joycon since I don't feel super comfortable doing so.

You can send them back to Nintendo- they usually fix stuff like that for free. They even will fix joy con drift if you have it. Also, you can try updating them in the settings menu. It could be as simple as that.

Where did you buy the joy cons, and you’re sure it isn’t your switch?

If you are responding to me in forums or a comment I would much appreciate it if you quoted or tagged me in your responses so I can see it and respond. Otherwise I usually can’t tell that you’ve replied. Thanks!

The L and R buttons are spring-loaded, so can be a bit tricky to deal with when disassembling a joycon (although they seem to work without the spring!), so I definitely wouldn't attempt if you are uncomfortable with fixing

Contact cleaner may be a way forward, something like the WD-40 electrical spray (NOT the standard one):
