Yeah, they had a software icon and description and everything provided straight from an official Nintendo website. Speculation is that it's gonna be revealed at a Mini general direct tomorrow (not partner showcase) but you never know. We'll find out at 10am ET I guess
One of two people in the world who thinks Sunshine is the best Mario game.
I like it a lot. I've put a lot of hours into Smash Bros but it won't click with me and I find it frustrating.
Kirby Fighters is simpler with fewer frustrations. It's a lot of fun. It's very easy to play but there are a surprising number of move combinations from just one attack button, jump and left stick so it might take some effort to master.
Kirby Fighters might also be great for my wife. She doesn't like fighting games. She can't remember most of the moves in games like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat and struggles to pull off the moves she does remember. Smash Bros appeals to her but it's still too complicated and too fast for her. Kirby Fighters is still quit fast but maybe the simpler gameplay will draw her in.
@CdrJameson Nice, thanks for the comments! That is pretty much what I figured, Smash is a great game but it can be a bit too complex at times when I am just trying to relax and game on a handheld. This seems like it is a better pace for a handheld game, I remember the first Kirby Fighters on the 3DS feeling the same way, generally preferring it over the 3DS version of Smash since it was a lot more simple. I also like how Kirby Fighters 2 seems like it has a lot of depth as far as single player goes.
@JayJ I ended up playing Kirby Fighters 2 in Story Mode most of the afternoon. I find it a lot of fun. The story mode is very basic but it doesn’t need to be complex and it gets quite hard as you go further in. It’s more accessible than Smash Bros to me. I’m now wondering if Smash Bros will click with me after playing this. I’ll find out when I’m done with Kirby.
I like it a lot so far! So glad the spinoff finally made the switch with local multiplayer, because I always played Star Allies and Return to Dream Land multiplayer with family and wondered "what would it be like if we could attack each other with the various copy abilities?" As someone who adores Smash, it was a bit strange with the slower pace and different moves (I tried to pull off moves with the right thumb stick so many times lol) but getting the hang of it wasn't too hard since I'm familiar with how Kirby games play as well.
