This game is currently on sale, I got it on sale a while ago, and while it's generally fine to play, it does have issues at times and I wanted to let people know.
The game has crashed on me 6 times:
1. Once during a story cutscene of all things
2. Once in Endless Challenge after I had got somewhere over 7000 kos
3. Again in Endless Challenge after about 5000 kos
4-6. In Digital Figure mode, that mode likes to crash when you change the background, or if you select Mako or Nudist Beach, scroll to their Expressions, scroll back and change the character.
Endless Challenge is kinda broken then, and you'll never be able to try and max out the scoreboard for it, 'cos the game will just randomly crash.
Also the scoreboard for 1 min. Challenge is weirdly capped out at 999, despite my best score actually being 5432.
Digital Figure needs a lot of work, it's a little slow, unstable, and doesn't give enough options to move the camera/models, and only allows viewing specific models instead of all of them. It could do with a different menu system altogether to accomodate every model, pose and arena background.
The game also has no camera controls at all during gameplay. The right stick does nothing, and no controls to reset the camera or change which enemy you're locked onto. This is generally fine in normal play, as the game is a 1v1 arena fighter, but the story mode and Covers Challenge mode expect you to fight multiple opponents at once, so having no camera control is a bit of an oversight.
During story mode, the subtitles often flicker, making it look like a new line is being displayed when it isn't, which is a bit of a distraction.
For a game with clothing as a central theme, it's very odd that we can't use any of their other costumes, you have one costume option with 2 alternate pallette swaps which is kinda lame.
The game NEEDS patching, no doubt, it's still fun to play though, if you want to get it, do what I did and wait for a big discount. I do really wish we could use the characters alternate costumes (yes, including naked Ragyo, please don't judge), as well as the super-powered versions of Ragyo, Ryuko and Satsuki outside of story mode.
@Joeynator3000 I'm well aware of how long it's been out, consider this a PSA, as it's currently on sale and wanted to point out the issues it has. It really shouldn't be in this state, though its problems are mostly in the alternate modes.
If there's any possibility that it could get fixed, then not talking about it at all isn't going to help.
