I got a switch from target about 2 weeks ago. I love it and the games are great but, in handheld mode, the Joy cons Creak and are loose; not much, but still noticeable. When i put the Joy cons in the grip their less loose and don't squeak. Anyone have this problem and/or a fix?
@AlexKenney05 The first Switch I bought had this issue with the left Joy-con, the creaking was actually quite loud. I decided to return it and was able to exchange it for a perfect non creaky console. Now after near 3 months it's loosening but nowhere near as bad as the original.Fingers crossed it doesn't get any worse over time.
I haven't noticed this with mine. But I have 3 full sets of Joycons and a pro controller, and thus haven't removed them from the console too many times. I imagine the looseness comes from taking them off and putting them back on over and over.
I mean, I get that that is the idea behind the Switch, but simple common sense says that any mechanical connection like that is gonna get worn out by frequent use. Like a Nintendo DS or 3DS that's been opened and closed too hard too many times, leaving it really loose. I've seen a lot of those.
@AlexKenney05 Iโve tried narrowing it down as to what the cause is. I think itโs the plastic rail on the joycons getting loose. Itโs not as noticeable in the grip because itโs held in place better. The back side of the controller is covered by the grip. People have said that one set of joycons is loose and other pairs they have arenโt or not as bad. When I handle my Switch I try not to hold it by the joycon end so it doesnโt out any tension or flex on it to worsen it.
I found a video someone shared on here that used a small piece of electrical tape on the bottom corner of the tablet on each side. Works well. No wobble anymore.
