Question to all of you in the US and Europe.

With the Switch getting so much popularity all over the world, it'll easily be number 2 to the PS4. A theory of mine, since Japan is deeply portable, do you think many exclusives that were Sony could switch to Nintendo?

I'm thinking of titles Persona, Ni no Kuni and many others. Persona 4 Golden was the best selling Vita title, which is saying much, but an updated version of Persona 5 on the Switch would easily sell well.

Any way, what do you all think? Ones you guys enjoy?

I think there's a chance. There are Persona spinoffs on 3DS so it would make sense to bring the main games to a Nintendo console too.

Tu as raison.
Pk les laisser alors que l'on peut les amener a une Console Nintendo ?
Cest complètement ilogique...

@progx Nope, for the same reason something like Octopath won't go to the PS4. They're console exclusives. And a mainline Persona game has never appeared on Nintendo hardware. Persona Q is only a thing because it's a crossover with a Nintendo exclusive Atlus series.

If Persona 5 Crimson or whatever actually appears on Switch, I'll be thrilled, but I'm not holding my breath.

@Ralizah Not yet, but doesn't mean it won't since we've had the spin-off. Judging from a survey email sent by Atlus, they're considering with Persona 6; which could be another 5-8 years away.

Also, what about other PS exclusive titles from Japan? I think there's a potential in the future for Nintendo to grab many of Sony's exclusives since they've been lax on that market. There have been a few titles I've seen come to the Switch that I thought were never coming. Such as Ys, Valkyria Chronicles and a couple of others, so what would you hope to see?

@progx Can't deny that Gal Gun 2 and Valkyria Chronicles 4 were both a shock to my system.

Atlus games never get ported to different manufacturer's platforms, though. DS games get ported to 3DS; PS2 games to PS Vita. But never Playstation to Nintendo, or visa versa. Why would they buck the trend now?

Like the first NnK, I expect the sequel to stay a Playstation console exclusive as well. Level-5 is another company that tends not to port across platforms after-the-fact.

The first Ni no Kuni was originally a DS exclusive, but the DS version was only released in Japan. I don't know how likely they are to bring the games to Switch though.

True. Some of these games may never get ported over to different platforms, but making adjustments and calling it something different seems to be the trend.

Ultimately, it'll come down to their consumers in Japan and how the content is enjoyed. Once Shin Megami Tensei V is released on the Switch, it may show which way the wind is blowing for developers. I wouldn't be surprised if the older Final Fantasy games start showing up on the system, too. Square seems very eager to hop into the Switch and bring their guns to the console. Honestly, bring this ports over en masse please!

How did one come up with it being 2nd to PS4? With the amount of interest in games for wide range of age on the NS I doubt it's staying in 2nd to PS4. Games sales have more selection on the NS compared to the PS4. With all the hype and so called 4k assuming your TV is 4k you won't see much gain in that. Game chart sales would seem to tell a different story of the PS4 here.

I expect the Switch to be top dog in the future all over the world, it's leading in Japan monstrously and breaking records all over the world. In the current landscape, the PS4 is still in first with the most sales and it's been out for a while.

My question pertains to the Japanese titles traditionally in Sony's camp for exclusivity in the US. What titles could you see making the jump in theory?

Honestly, I think Atlus will be bringing all their guns to the Switch and Persona in the future will find a home on the Switch. I'm heavily citing how well Persona 4 did on the Vita, the on-the-go feature will be hard to ignore over there for games without a heavy online feature.

PS4 doesn't show very much inclusiveness and growth since killing the vita. That's how I see it by killing a small portable they basically went to 2nd rating as result of that. For all their hype and 4K they can't go portable nor garnet enough rating. Having a Optical based system is outdated and waste of space. To enjoy 4K your other hardware must support it including the TV and if not you won't get 4K game play and that in itself introduces cost not told by Sony PS4 to the buyers. 4K go only so far and if the out display is subpar then you wasted all that money for no gain.

Very true. 4K is still a better gimmick than 3DTV, but the consumer winds up investing in other components to render it. You'll pay $299 for the PS4 or $399 for the Pro, then drop more than $500 for a good 4K TV. Plus, I'm baffled at the people who can see this level of detail. We can only see 1080p at the highest in our vision, right?

That would depend on your screen size. If under 28" then you probably won't notice any change past 1080p, but larger screens need higher resolutions. As for the limits of the eye, about 16K would be the cutoff for a person with 20/20 vision.

I know people always claims they can see the difference but when asked how they claim proto-science let's them see the difference. It's like this to see a CPU difference it has to be 2x for you to see the difference and you can guess a CPU 2x the current isn't cheap.
