Topic: ¿Now that MiiVerse is about to die, Will Switch get its own online thingy?

So Miiverse is on its deathbed.
Lets have a moment of silence for its impending death.

Gonna miss you MiiVerse. These are sad times indeed.
But the question is: Will Switch get an online communtiy/social thingy now?
And if so when will it happen?

Switch needs it. The Switch interface is so barren and depressing compared to the WiiU's Wara Wara plaza and PS4 integrated community and friends activity.

I hope the Switch gets it's own thing. MiiVerse was never my thing, but I think Switch should have something, maybe more similar to the PS4's. Switch is worthy of it's own thing.

It's pretty clear that Nintendo have decided they're better off just telling us to go post on Facebook and Twitter. The thing about Miiverse is, they have to heavily moderate user interaction to keep up a kid-friendly image, and I suspect they found that to be a harder, more costly task than they first anticipated. So why bother when there are all these other websites that angry parents can't hold them responsible for?

I say this as the biggest Miiverse fan you will find here, by the way. I'm just facing reality.

Probably Twitter and Facebook integration. Because that's essentially free advertising for Nintendo. Miiverse was a closed system that was only used by Nintendo owners.

They are clearly putting all the eggs in the facebook+twitter basket. I doubt they'll create any other online service similar to Miiverse.

@Zyrac Excuse you. I would like to challenge you for the title of NL's Most Addicted to Miiverse.

Honestly, even though I've been active on Miiverse for roughly three years, I've sort of drifted away from it over the past year. It just isn't as fun as it was before the redesign in 2015 (oh my, that was two years ago). I can't say I'll miss it, but it is sad they're shutting it down. But I'd say just stick with adding more features to the integration to social media.

this sucks. another big disappointment in nintendo. now super mario maker is screwed on WiiU.
