Personally I like the idea but I think I'd prefer to pick and choose what to pay for rather than pay for everything at once. While it makes it harder to get into a new series, I'd rather not give money to a comic I actively dislike or have no interest in at the same time I'm paying for one I like. It's easier for the creators, but it removes the "voting with wallet" factor for readers.
One of the announced publishers was IDW and IDW went downhill in recent years, making bad political tracts in place of good stories (one of the "hallmarks" was giving G.I.Joe, a title about soldiers, to a writer that hates the military; it got so bad Hasbro threatened to not renew their contract with IDW if that writer wasn't fired).
On the other hand I love comics and my shelf space and funds are limited, as well as choice (to things published in my country). InkyPen is advertising a selection of titles from USA, Franco-Belgian comics and manga as well, covering the big three styles/markets.
It sounds interesting. I've subscribed to Marvel's similar service a few times in the past, but kept canceling because while reading the comics is great, the app doesn't play nice with downloading the issues to read offline... Which is a feature it's suppose to provide to subscribers. That, and the panels are a bit small on a tablet IMO.
I'll probably subscribe for a month to try this service out, at the very least.
I need to know how the service works internationally. I live in Japan and don't want to buy into it and find I cannot use it here. On PC you can use a VPN to get around that sort of thing, but not on consoles. At least not as far as I know.
