Topic: i need help plz

hello my names is brittnie and I'm having an issue with my Nintendo switch light and I don't know how to fix it … the right joystick isn't moving up or down in my game. I can physically move it in every direction but in the system its self it wont budge. I've tried everything I can think of except for factory resetting the system but id rather not do that because of my games. I cant even fully calibrate the control stick because its not letting me move it up or down. however I have calibrated the motion controls, updated my controllers, and ive even tried to change the button mapping to use the left joystick as the right one and the arrows underneath the left joystick as walking but nothing has worked. I cant call Nintendo because of covid-19 PLZ HELP ME!!!!!!

I would advise that you do not factory-reset your console as it is unlikely that it will make a difference. If you have only had your console for a short time and don't mind losing your save data (or you have your save data uploaded to the cloud with an NSO subscription), then perhaps you may wish to consider that option, but it should only be a last resort.

Unfortunately, with Nintendo customer service being inaccessible due to current circumstances, you may be stuck. Consider visiting Nintendo's support website and see if you can find a solution to your problem.

Another workaround is to perhaps buy a separate Joy-Con pair and play your games in tabletop mode until Nintendo's support services recommence operations.
