@ElRoberico Haha it could happen! I'm not saying it would run optimally, but I'm currently playing BG3 on deck at around 30fps (few tanks in busy areas).
Assuming Switch 2 has same power (or slightly better?) than the Deck then this could definitely be a thing surely! I understand that D:OS2 sold very well on Switch, so Larian already have a degree of familiarity with porting/hardware nuance
It's creative, but the creativity is primarily centered around gimmicky Wonder Flower sequences.
That does remind me of the 3D World problem, where the game is solid but the creativity is very level to level instead of one big thing that transforms it beyond being "another Mario".
Though of course the real 3D World problem was 2 years of overexposure of far more samey than expected Mario while Nintendo's hardware sales plummeted. The same way that NSMB was cool in 2006 but obnoxiously boring in 2012, its not purely on the game so I could see people (myself included) being kinder to the game because of what Mario has been in recent history. Or like how Sonic fans go nuts when the next 3D Sonic does anything they like at all (half-serious).

I feel like the extremely new animations, new kingdom, new enemies, badges, really put creativity and newness in the game as a whole. The Wonder Flowers were fun too but the game wasn't really only about those sequences; almost every level let you skip the wonder flower and the levels were still fun aymd creative without them.
Obviously a matter of opinion, but I was very worried the game would be too centered on gimmicky wonder flowers but was pleasantly
surprised after playing the game.
As for 3D World, definitely near the top of my favorite Mario games along with Wonder. I do think Wonder has a bit more level polish though... or at least more consistently.
@kkslider5552000 3D World hits differently, IMO. It elaborated on and expanded the core design of 3D Land massively, and felt very new as a result, in much the same way that something like SMB3 did compared to the original. The 3D subseries plays differently from both the 2D games and most of the other 3D ones.
Also, let's be real: 3D World is just a much better game overall. It's filled with awesome music (Wonder is not), creative bosses (you fight one particular boss through almost the entire game), and creativity that typically impacts the entirety of the stage (where Wonder relegates most of its creativity to setpieces within otherwise unremarkable levels, with a few exceptions). It also has cool new transformations that alter how you approach level progression, whereas the Elephant and Bubble Flower transformations are just sort of... there, and barely taken full advantage of.
Currently Playing: Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition

Most Mario games (especially 2D) don't actually require their own power-ups; a weird property of Mario. That said, the bubble power-up allows some of the most insane platforming in any Mario game, especially in combination with certain badges.
