I recently got an oled and I needed to transfer some game from my old switch to the new one and it worked fin for pokemon scarlet, but it didn't work for smash bros since it still said I had to buy it. Bot games were digital of course, so is there a reason this happened. Thank you.
@Dogmee If your switch user profile is linked to the nintendo account that bought smash bros, it should be work.
Since we can't see your consoles, it could take several questions to diagnose your issue. You'd likely resolve your issue quickest by contacting nintendo support. (nintendo of amrica support was impressive 2016-2019, but I'm not sure the quality is still as good since the pandemic.)
There are caveats to having your nintendo account on multple switch consoles: Primary & non primary console.(if youre aware, you can disregard. sometimes this is news to new switch owners). You can't play the same game on both consoles at the same time. And there are other sticking points that restrict freedom to use the both consoles as you like. That's such a can of worms, though, I don't want to get into it.
Digital games should be saved to the Nintendo account they were downloaded from and as such you have to redownload the from eShop account that bought the games. So look at your Nintendo accounts on the Switch when you transfer the accounts over and that account should have the option to re-download again.
