Sure, if you think being for trans women is somehow being against women, I'll call you old-fashioned. You are entitled to think so, I just wanted to point out that "smearing" is not a good choice of word, since Rowling has been criticised for things she has actually said and done.
I’ve played it for a few hours on PS5 and can confirm that the graphics are, of course, far reduced for switch port. However, I don’t think this impacts enjoyment of the game.
If graphics are important to you, this isn’t for you.
Combat is fun and not simple, but spell casting is cool and nice to have variation. Button-mapping for spells is easy and intuitive.
Load times - frequent. Within Hogwarts castle there are lots of doors/passages; ones which don’t take you to a new section (ie no load screen) take up to 5seconds to load, load screens to new sections more than 30 seconds. I’m a patient person so this doesn’t bother me too much, but understand this will frustrate some players.
Impressive overall that I can play this game on switch and I think it’s incredible that they’ve ported such a big game. Keeping in mind that this was a hit for big consoles like PS5, I’m happy to accept some drawbacks to play on switch.
Hope this helps people. Feel free to ask any questions
Thanks, appreciate your observations. I'm glad to hear that not all the loading screens are >30s. For me, it's either the Switch version or no version at all. I think I should have the patience to handle some loading screens (you gotta have patience to play RPGs).
@cwong15 You’re welcome and if it’s this or not at all, I’d say go ahead and play it. Doubt there’ll be a sequel to something like this so in my opinion you might as well! Would you buy the cartridge, play for a bit and resell if you don’t like it? Might get half the cost back but at least you played it then.
Worth noting for those who have the option that it's on sale on Steam ATM. Just finished downloading it and played the first hour. Certainly a solid release

An opinion is only respectable if it can be defended. Respect people, not opinions
@skywake : I would consider grabbing it on PC if it were available via GOG (Lego Harry Potter is available), but given that it's a new high-profile release, a DRM-free release probably won't materialise until it loses a little more momentum.
Porygon did nothing wrong.

I have this game, the duluxe verision ,but having problem inserting the code, it just won't accept it, my switch is a hk version, but nintendo a/c register as a europe a/c because I wanted the nintendo a/c to be english, it won't accept it.
I just purchase another switch and using the same account but setting in japan and language in japanese, also wont accept it, any help here, thanks.
@kms108 I could be wrong, but I don’t think it matters where you bought your Switch. What matters is:
A) What region your Nintendo account is set to. You can have multiple Nintendo accounts on one system, so if you need an account from a specific region, you can make one (without having to delete your other accounts). I think you’ll need to use a different email address though.
B) The region your system it set to. This can be changed in settings.
C) The default system language. This can also be changed in settings.
It sounds like you just need to make a new user profile with the Nintendo account set to your desired region.
@Maxz to clarify the only thing that matters is the Nintendo account region. Codes have to be redeemed on a region matching account.

@kms108 In order to redeem your redeem code, your Nintendo account region must match the region of the redeem code.
There's only ONE place you can set, or change, your Nintendo account region: the Residence/country setting in your nintendo account on nintendo's website.
(the country setting in your Switch console settings has no affect on your nintendo account region)
Thanks for the reply, I did guest you need every thing to match, I have open another A/C as in location Japan and language in english, and the code works, the good thing is, I linked it with my main A/C and the new DLC is also ported to it.
The strange thing is, I purchased the Animal Crossing NW switch Lite HK version a few days ago, I was able to download using my European A/C, and my old switch was able to download from nintendo cloud afterwards.
Picked this up yesterday - only a couple of hours in but it's really good fun. The worst thing about the graphics is the hair, but if you're worried about how something looks then you've got the wrong console! Great touches to Hogwarts that I won't spoil - I know very little about the game and it's been great to see even the early things unfold. I'd recommend.
Just bought for m'y son's Christmas. I did not pay attention because i am naïve enough to think that physical version means physical version, but you have to download content for the game right out of the box... So first you can't play and secondly there is just no reason to sell a cartridge. I am so #@!#
@Vader_MIB Yes, there is a substantial download, like TOTK. An annoying trend in Switch games. But I can think of at least one reason for physical media: once you're done playing, you can resell the cartridge. You can't sell your digital download. My cartridge came with a download code for an in-game item that presumably cannot be transferred, but otherwise the game itself can be sold. Also, the download is smaller if half the game image is on-cartridge.
Got Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe Edition before the 30% off sale ended on eshop. I was a bit skeptical the game would be good, but it's actually pretty darn good. Impressive in some aspects. Played for 6-8 hours so far.
Ug! Doing the quest, Secrets of the Forbidden Section that starts with Sebastian. I got to the end of the quest (I think), but now I'm stuck here. Apparently, getting to this point is supposed to trigger a cutscene, but it didn't trigger. Although, I see on reddit that it could work if I redo the quest. I guess I'll redo the quest. Really fun quest, though.
