Topic: Help me catch up please

Hi everyone, It has been a while, after gaming exclusively on the switch since release, I left Nintendo and have spent the last couple of years catching up on my huge Steam backlog on my Steam Deck. It has been good to play PC type games again.
I think the last game I bought was Metroid Dread before obviously I came back for TOTK. That made me buy the pro controller as the steam deck made me realise how cramped I find the joycons.

So what have I missed, I have Zelda on order for Thurs, but are there any other must plays since Metroid Dread now that I have my Steam backlog down to around 50 games

In the meantime I will start going through NL reviews myself, this could get expensive as I only buy physical..

Well there has been a lot that has come out on the Switch since you left. One such game is that is must play is Super Mario Brothers Wonder another one is Paper Mario The Thousand Year door and princess peach showtime.

That is so far, I have missed quite a bit so I'm going to have fun catching up

There are some great ones on that list and I second Peach Showtime and Mario Wonder. A couple other obvious suggestions:

Kirby and the Forgotten Land
Pokemon Legends Arceus

Personally I think those are each the best game in their series.

Can agree with forgotten land. Kirby stuff is what I play when I need to ketchup with Nintendo stuff. The return to dreamland deluxe remaster might as well by 2nd favorite Kirby game of all time.

As already mentioned, Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a great pick. Kirby Return to Dream Land is also really good, lots of different modes in that game.
Pikmin 4 is also an awesome title and a good entry point for the series. Definitely worth checking out even if you don't play many RTS games (I personally don't really play RTS besides Pikmin)
I agree with some of the other people here that Super Mario Bros Wonder is a good recommendation, its a very unique platformer!

i agree with wonder, that game was pure joy, down to the end. i would say splatoon 3, but since it just ended support for most splatfests, i would go ahead and just wait for 4 :3 im going to throw an odd one out there- xenoblade chronicles 3. one of the BEST games of all time for me. the storytelling, gameplay, and graphics arw incredible. highly recommend, just know youre in for a 70 hour emotional roller coaster !! other than that, the new zelda looks like its extremely good, a nice blend of the 3D mechanics and 2D style, and that comes out thursday, happy gaming !

Appreciate all the suggestions, weirdly as a Nintendo fan I have never played Pokémon, Smash Brothers or Kirby, they have never appealed, no idea why.
Princess Peach has gone onto the list and Im mulling over Xenoblade so thanks for that.

@OctolingKing13 I'd probably argue that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is the overall best video game I've ever played to be honest. The first game in the series is still my favourite though I think just because playing it for the first time on Wii was like a whole different experience to anything I'd played before.
