My 8 year old is playing Fortnite on the Switch with a headset and mic. The Switch is hooked up to the TV, so i can't hear what the other players are saying to him. I have read that you can change the audio output device, so that the sound will come through the TV and through the headset, but when i tried to do this through the settings on Fortnite, there is no option to change the ausio output device? Can someone help? I am not comfortable with not being able to hear what is being said to him!

@oogabooga2011 Unfortunately, I think TV audio might be game only, while hearing people in the chat is headset only. Can anyone else in the forum confirm this? I completely welcome anyone else reading to help out, if I'm wrong.

Otherwise, regarding voice chat function on the Switch, I think your only option is to turn voice chat on or off. With Switch parental control settings (located in switch console settings), "communication with others" is either on or off.
