Topic: Have any of Switch's exclusives crept into your all-time favorites list?

As an old man I have an extensive list of games I've enjoyed immensely over the past 40+ years. But the Switch lands in an odd place for me. On one hand, it's easily my favorite platform I've ever owned and arguably the best console Nintendo have offered to date. However, I think the first party lineup might be the weakest in the company's history. A bit of a spicy take I'm sure many won't agree with, but it's just how I feel.

Anywho, just off the top of my head, I'm not sure I'd put any Switch game in say...my all-time top 25 favorites. Of all the Switch games I've played from start to finish, games like Luigi's Mansion 3, Arms, Super Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and Ultra Street Fighter II would all rank highly on my list. All would probably land somewhere in my top 200 favorites.

How about you fine folk? Where do Switch's exclusives land on your personal pantheon of all-time greats?

@Magician Come to think of it I do not have ANY Switch exclusive games in my top 25 even 50.

I am yet to play ANY Xenoblade Chronicles games but I doubt that my top list will change after that.

Animal Crossing is fine I guess, Links Awakening Remake is a nice game, Pokemon Legends Arceus is fun but still not in the top.

The Switch is my favorite console along with the NES BUT I love it so much because of the ports ... weird right? And I can't get enough of them. I want everything to be ported on the Switch!

The best Switch exclusive I've played is definitely Smash Ultimate. It's just so good. I play it with my friends all the time and am probably getting close to 1,000 hours of playtime. I think it's in my top 5 games of all time, if not then top 10 for sure. I should also shoutout Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart 8 for more multiplayer stuff.

For singleplayer, it's tied between BOTW and Super Mario Odyssey for me. Both are absolute masterpieces and I struggle to choose my favorite.

EDIT: I should also mention Dread. It's not my favorite Metroid game, but it's really high up there and deserves a shoutout.

Uhh, I'd say BotW but that was on the WiiU as well.

For me Xenoblade 2/Torna, XC1 DE, Monster Hunter Rise, SMT V, Dragon Quest 11, MH Stories 2 are all amazing games.

Breath of the Wild is probably my favourite game ever but I haven't even played the Switch version, I only have it on Wii U. Splatoon 2 and Super Mario Odyssey would certainly make my top 50, maybe even 25. But I do agree the Switch's first-party line-up is not one of Nintendo's best (which is not to say it's bad by any means), and there are very few third-party exclusives on the system.

I've not spent much time thinking about if any game I've played the past 7 years is better than my top 20 list when I thought of it, but almost none of them that could be are Switch exclusives. Mario Odyssey might be top 50 but that's less likely thanks to its unending post-game, and ask me again about Smash Ultimate in 2-3 years, and that's it since BOTW is also on Wii U. To be fair, I've not played every Switch exclusive I wanted to.

Celeste is the main one that's an all time favorite, and maybe Sonic Mania so...not exclusives.

Everyone's different with different tastes. But as for me, Switch has more games in my top 25 than every other console throughout history combined. I just counted to make sure.

Despite there being some really fine specimens from Nintendo's past catalog, and some very fine specimens not on Switch, the vast majority of my all time favorite games are indeed Switch exclusives (or Nintendo exclusives on Switch, or Switch console exclusives). And there's a few that are multiplat but I enjoy the Switch version most.

There are soooo many other games I love which, if you asked me on any other day, I may have placed in my top 25. Tomorrow, I may swap out Persona 4 Dancing with Shin Megami Tensei V. But today, this is how I rank them.

• 80% of Top 25 on Nintendo platforms
• 60% of Top 25 are Switch games
• 44% of Top 25 are Nintendo exclusives on Switch
• 24% of Top 25 are pure Nintendo Switch exclusives, not available on any other platform

@Magician yes your right. It is a brilliant console but they have not got good first party games . But it might come later, a bit like gamecube. What ARE your top 25 games ? Like to hear that from people.

Luigi's Mansion 3 is one of my top 5 favorite Switch games. It's almost perfect.

Yep: Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, and FE Three Houses are probably in my top 10 games of all time.

Exclusives, no. The Wii U release of Mario Kart 8 is in my top 10. According to my own stupid rules, the Switch port isn't an exclusive. Cave Story + isn't an exclusive, but I'd never played the game before. I might include that in my all-time top 20 or 25. Odyssey maybe.

Metroid Prime Hunters, Xenoblade Chronicles, Animal Crossing: Wild World, ARMS, Ring Fit Adventure...Two for now that I would consider Top 5 personally. Beyond ARMS and Ring Fit Adventure, I probably would have Metroid Dread within my Top 25. Overall, I don't think Nintendo's line-up on the Switch is close at all to the Nintendo DS's and just recently has felt like it could close the gap on the Wii. The games have been bigger and graphical quality has been the company's best, but I don't feel like I've been playing better games overall.

There are a few. Not like top five, maybe not even top ten, but maybe top 25? It's been a while since I thought about ranking the top games. But Shin Megami Tensei V, Fire Emblem 3H, Splatoon 2 and Mario+Rabbids are all pretty high up there.

Multiple Switch exclusives would probably sneak into a top fifty, though.

Mario Odyssey, SMTV, Smash Ultimate, Animal Crossing NH and Xenoblade 2 are definitely up there.

Also, they may not be Switch exclusives technically, but Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Xenoblade Definitive Edition are to Switch exclusives in my eyes and I'd put them in my top list somewhere. Breath of the Wild is my #1 game of all time, but yeah, I don't consider that a Switch exclusive by any metric.

From the stuff I've actually played, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is likely the only exclusive that would make the top 25. Luigi's Mansion 3 would probably be in the top 50. I've also got a fair few that others have mentioned in the backlog so they might make it in there eventually.

Probably Xenoblade 2, Xenoblade DE if it counts and Smash Bros Ultimate. Other than that... maybe Fire Emblem Three Houses, but certainly no more than those. Most of my favorites are nostalgia anyways so i am not sure if they can be topped so easily. I don't really have that many favorite games that are exclusive to anything from the start, so i think this is pretty decent.
Edit. Reading through the other comments, i am seeing a lot of Games mentioned that are not exclusives, or are we talking games that used to be exclusives as well? MH Rise or DKC Tropical Freeze were exclusive at one point for example
