Saw that we didn’t have a dedicated space to discuss the Treehouse yesterday, so here we are. What are your thoughts so far? The farming looks really nicely streamlined, and I love the aesthetics. Not sure about the combat yet though. As far as I could tell, it’s based on real time actions, but with more powerful attacks on cool-downs?

I appreciate the fact that the game appears to run better than RF5 does. The music is composed by Go Shiina, best known for the composing the God Eater games (btw, GE3 is a solid Monster Hunter alternative for those who're interested). Beyond that, everything else is looking a little pedestrian. The UI, the combat, the sim-life mechanics...all pretty much run-of-the-mill, none of it pops.

But I like the genre, and I try to support third party exclusives when possible, so my money's down.

I was interested when this game got announced but its Treehouse segment disappointed me, even though I was looking forward to it.
It doesn't seem this game's for me after all.

Only skimmed through some of that video (thanks for sharing), still very much uncertain about my thoughts on this. I think my main beef is with the character design - the whole jprg short-skirt and high heels doesn't work for me here, and the exterior environments weren't especially appealing to look at.

But the indoor environments did look well realised. How much time am I going to be spending indoors though?

What I've not seen from just skimming bits of video yet is any suggestion of farm/town building to the game. If that side of things is incorporated in the game then I'd be grateful for a time stamp in a video to check it out.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

It sorta feels as if crystal chronicles were pitched today. It isn’t designed to beat/replace the competition but is more Squeenix trying something different for them. The gameplay systems look like a stable loop so I am in day 1. I liked RF5 and PoOT so I don’t need a marvelous beater (sakuna did that for me anyway) so I am happy to add this to the pile. Plus it feels like it has a more substantial story which is good for me.

Played the demo. Not terrible I suppose, but phew the game is blurry as heck. I’m not a graphics freak or whatever, played Fire Emblem Three Houses and didn’t mind, but this is a bit too low def for me.

Hope they can up the resolution for those interested in the game.

After giving the demo a go I am pretty charmed. It reminds me of older JRPGs from the early 2000s and I like the art style and color design (except the eyes look strange to me). Yep totally gonna get this day 1.

I liked that they made it a farming JRPG. Looking forward to the battle gameplay.

Loved the Demo but have to remember not to eat my food rather then swing the sword. Will have to learn the button functions to not do a oops. The weapon charging is what I learned the hard way. I let it finish charging before battling or moving to next scene. But, I did preorder it for now.

I enjoyed the demo; the visuals and music of the game were charming and the story is interesting. And it was relaxing to play, which is what I want out of these kind of games. However I found Higan Canyon and the combat a bit of a drag. I would've liked to have experienced more of the farm sim side of the game. I'll wait and see for reviews; it'll have to be 85+ on metacritic for me to consider buying. This holiday season is packed enough as it is so it needs to stand out somehow.

I'm a couple hours into this and I'm having a good time. Striking a balance between spending enough time in combat to level your character, farming for financial gains, and having your ability to do those things as well as your travelling range to explore tied to time and stamina management. It all works to keep things interesting.

Been playing this more than Persona 5 or Bayonetta 3 over the past week. I'm really enjoying my time. I'm now through Spring and have begun Summer. I've finished one of the three chapter 3 story quests and so have unlocked combat milestones. And even the the town doctor, Cres, told me to stay indoors during the Quietus (the end of season calamity), I spent the whole day fishing.

It'll be interesting to see if doing that will negatively impact my ending or something, because Cres made it sound as though doing that would be the equivalent of playing outside during a nuclear fallout. Meh, who knows? Considering the angel suggested that I'm a champion of god (or some such) and that this world was created by my mind, I think my being outside during the Quietus will be a nonfactor in the end.
