@Tyranexx Definitely a good shout and I'm doing the same for GT myself. I've heard the track names aren't as spoilery as something like AA but I'd still love to hear them for the first time in-game and then fiddle around in the sound test to learn what they're called for YT browsing purposes!
Also this isn't a knock against you in the slighest but I've always found it funny how much AA stuff you own without actually having really played the series in the slightest XD

@Fizza I think experiencing the tracks organically for the first time is generally better too. I've been dying to at least name drop a couple of my favorites, but I won't for now. XD I'll wait until the game is out on Switch and some time has passed. This discussion convinced me to unearth the OST on YT earlier and listen at work.
On how many AA games I own: No offense taken lol. Part of why I put them off again and again is I feel it would be best to play through the original trilogy first, with each entry close together. Though probably not consecutively. I also don't like running too many story-heavy games at once (or play too many games at once in general, or else I'll never finish anything); the AA games are basically VNs, and I also play a lot of story-heavy RPGs. I don't wanna mix up plot points or get overwhelmed. XD And that's IF I feel like even digesting text of an evening since my day job (software developer/programmer) usually involves a lot of mental work.
I also consider the Professor Layton series similar in some ways and wanted to play through the six main series games first. I just wrapped up Azran Legacy a little while back. Seems as though it'll be some time before Professor Layton and the New World of Steam makes an appearance.
Tl;Dr - It's basically a mix of timing, backlog, and how I'm wired.
@StarPoint From what little I do know of the AA series - and I've tried to keep most of what I do know to only a few characters and vague impressions - there's a reason it has so many fans. Especially Trials and Tribulations; I've heard that title is top of the list for many.

@Tyranexx Yep, Trials and Tribulations is a masterpiece. I won’t spoil anything on it obviously but I will say that it’s an excellently-written and extremely rewarding experience. As of now it’s in my top 10 games of all time list.

@StarPoint High praise indeed. Then again, the fanbase has been clamoring that the games get more recognition for years. As a current outsider, I do think that's gradually happening.

@Tyranexx Yeah they definitely seem to have made a bit of a resurgence in the past couple of years. Probably thanks to the Trilogy and GAA ports. I just don’t ever remember hearing about these games a few years ago, except for people wanting Phoenix in Smash. But now I feel like more YouTubers I watch and articles that I read tend to mention those games more often. Which I am absolutely all for. Who knows, maybe something similar will happen with Ghost Trick?

Only Asia release physical and NA gets the shaft. Might buy the 29.99 to get the bonus but will download then delete and play the physical version instead.
@StarPoint Maybe so regarding Ghost Trick. I'd like to see it become a series, though I'd also prefer any potential new entries to use a completely different cast since I think the original game is good as is and doesn't need a direct sequel.

I caved in and decided to treat myself to a single song from GT before it releases. Went with the Main Theme since it's already used in all of the trailers we've had for it so far and oh my god: if the rest of the OST is even close to being as good as this then I can already tell this game is going to be perfection.

@StarPoint It just sounds so quintessentially DS, you know? Those guitar samples especially take me back an entire decade. Cannot wait to see what it and the rest of the OST sounds like in the remaster! (I've heard Missile's Theme is a banger! )

Yes, but it's a rerelease of what's arguably one of THE best DS games. I played through it a few summers ago - started it on a day trip when I was a passenger in a car - and enjoyed it immensely. I paid a small premium for a new DS copy then. Can't imagine how much one is now post-pandemic inflation.

@Tyranexx I will buy it. But it is like geist on gamecube, but just took an idea and made totally new game with. lthough the game, you 100% correct is one of the best games ever made. It just can they not release some nintendo made brand new games, there hasn't been many on switch.👍🕹🎮
@Ninfan To be fair, Ghost Trick is under Capcom's umbrella lol. Nintendo has no say regarding development. There have been many Nintendo-made games on Switch. Sure, a fair amount of them have been ports, and the House of Mario has been fairly quiet lately post Tears of the Kingdom. Though I believe Pikmin 4 is due out soon.
