You all probably know this but I'll say it again - Smash was announced in the Nintendo Direct this left me very curious - if Nintendo announced a big title like Smash in a direct, then what awaits us in this year's E3?
Only time will tell but just for fun I just wanna make some predictions.
My List:
-Pikmin 4 - Miyamoto said the game is closed to finished so why not?
-Fire Emblem It was announced for 2018, they have to show it sometime this year and what better event than E3... or it's own seperate Direct
-One last look at Octopath Traveler
-Yoshi - also being released this year, a demo would be nice
-The new game RetroStudios has been working on
-Animal Crossing people love this game idk why but they do
-Afirst look at Pokemon on the Switch (a trailer some gameplay, anything)
-A first look at Shin Megami Tensei V on the Switch, we did get a trailer last year
-Metroid Prime 4 sneak peek maybe?

Thats enough for me, but what do you all think?

I think we'll probably see more details on games we already know about and not a lot of new announcements. We have a lot of games announced that we know next to nothing about, Prime 4, Pokemon, Smash, Yoshi, Pikmin 4, Fire Emblem. Retro's absence is also suspicious, so I think we'll finally see that. Beyond that, maybe Animal Crossing and a 2D Mario game.

@Bolt_Strike 2D mario is going to need some more innovation imo, New Super Mario bros on the Wii and ds were a blast... but then Nintendo saw money in their eyes and realized they could just give us the same game on the Wii U with a slight visual upgrade and call it a new game.
New levels/worlds, power-ups etc. aren't going to cut it for me.

Back to your comment I agree about Retros absence being suspicious. I could image Nintendo just giving us a direct out of nowhere and be like "Hey here's a new ip from Retro! Okay see y'all later!"

I think we'll get info on the rest of the year's lineup (I'm thinking Yoshi in August, Fire Emblem in September, Animal Crossing in October, Smash 5 in November, and maybe a Xenoblade X or Tokyo Mirage Sessions port for December), with some first gameplay looks at 2019 games like Metroid Prime 4, Bayonetta 3, and maybe Pokémon (I'm not doubting Pokémon will be a 2019 release, just that it usually has it's own events, so I'm not sure if E3 would get first gameplay reveal).

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

My predictions :
1. Animal.Crossing Switch announcement
2. Pokemon Switch announcement
3. Metroid Prime 4 First trailer
4. Re:Legend 2nd Trailer
5. SquareEnix ports such as World of Final Fantasy, FF X/X-2 HD, FF XII, Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5
6. The Sims 4 for Switch
7. Smash Bros Switch First trailer
8. The Snack World Switch English version
9. Paid Online Service explanation.
10. Yoshi for Switch

For case number 5 & 6, if those games are Really on Nintendo Switch, i will Gleefully Eliminate my PS4 machine and All my PS4 games, since i still have some negativity against Sony.

I think it'll mostly be more details about already known games and content with a few surprises and 2019 teases. So like for Switch:
June - Mario Tennis Aces
July - Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, Octopath Traveler
August - Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion, Yoshi, Wonderful 101
September - Smash
October - Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion 3, Xenoblade 2 story DLC
November - Super Mario Maker 2
December - Fire Emblem
2019 - Metroid Prime 4, Bayonetta 3

I also think there will be Smash and Mario Tennis Aces tournaments at E3 that are streamed like last year's Splatoon 2, ARMS and Pokken DX tournaments were.

SwitchForce

Nintendo Switch 2.0HD with 4K portable screen and output 4K Display port. I trade my NS Gen1 just for that.

@SwitchForce I'm sorry but thats definitely not happening, Nintendo already starting making a new Nintendo Switch but with just a new chipset to prevent hacking.

Dammm you NS... lmao.... oh well then I be keeping the old boy then. But hey I like to dream harder here. They should worry less about hacking and more about selling more NS instead. There will always be hackers the majority of us could care less if it works and plays were in. If you find out what version this is Tell US so we can pass this news on so buyers will buy those they want not a dishackable version.

@SwitchForce Hey nothing wrong with dreaming, everyone does it! But yeah Nintendo should get their priorities straight with the Switch. Preventing hacking is good and all but I would like for them to address stuff we've been wanting for a while now and need like more media apps, cloudsaves, virtual console, details on online subscription service (it's inevitably coming but they shouldn't wait last minute) etc.

Pungu

Smash Bros.
Pokemon Switch (it will be something we won't expect, but not in a good way)
A proper Metroid Prime 4 trailer
Random 3DS stuff no one cares about
A brand new game we don't know about (at least 1, preferably 2)
More 3rd party ports
At least 1 Wii U port

I think these are the games we'll see:
Pikmin 4 - No release date or vague year placeholder
Smash 5 - Releases same day as Switch's online
A new IP from Retro - 2018, 2019, or maybe even yesterday, I have no clue
Pokemon - I want to say 2018, but I'm not too confident
Metroid Prime 4 - 2019 and maybe a release quarter. I'd wager 2nd or 3rd
Fire Emblem - December
Mario Maker 2- October
A major third party title - this year

Lastly their could be a number of different games showed off, but I only think one of them will appear, and this is also considering that Pokemon does not release this year: Animal Crossing, Kid Icarus, or an HD remake/WiiU port for example.

I'm already hyped for E3 as well. There are some obvious candidates as to what we'll get to see, but I managed to get some hopes and dreams into my list as well.

  • Animal Crossing
  • Bayonetta 3
  • F-Zero
  • Fire Emblem
  • Kid Icarus: Uprising HD
  • Kid Icarus: Uprising 2
  • Labo: 3rd and maybe even 4th kit
  • Metroid Prime 4
  • Pokémon gen 8
  • Retro's new IP
  • Super Mario Maker 2
  • Super Smash Bros
  • The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD

Sorry to poop on the party, but every year E3 generates multiple threads where the same thing is being discussed, so to prevent duplication etc. we use just one thread for all pre-E3 discussion.
