This looks like a lot of fun!

I want to get another racing game, but I have quite a bit on my backlog, so I could wait...not sure if I would wait for this or get Burnout Paradise in the Amazon Prime Sale.

I'll check it out at some point. The cruise N series has a special place in my heart. Between the arcade ones and renting from blockbuster I played a ton of world and usa.

Can never have enough arcade racers. It’s crazy to think this is a Nintendo IP, as though their logo is splashed across the arcade machines, they actually don’t develop or even publish the games.

It’s kinda like Bayonetta, Astral Chain, Fatal Frame, Wonderful 101, etc. They own the IP but it’s handled by the creators.

And like Fatal Frame and W101, it seems they’ll be allowing this on PC at some point as well. Nintendo’s loosened up a bit, even if it’s just for more niche titles they don’t develop in house.

It’s that childhood experience I think I’m looking to relive. And the game genuinely looks fire. By far the best looking arcade racer I’ve seen in a long time.

@JaxonH yea for sure. I'd always run into the arcade and immediately find the sit down cruis n cabinet(if you'd even call it a cabinet) and pump a ton of quarters into it. I can't even tell you how many times I rented the cruis n games. It was at least once a month on 64.

@JaxonH 9/14 release date eh? Might have to request it for the ol bday I suppose. I'm passing on Warioware. But I'll more than likely grab this and sonic colors in September.

@JaxonH Yeah I guess that makes sense, make more money by allowing niche games to go elsewhere after a period of exclusivity, with I guess exceptions such as Astral Chain and Bayonetta 2/3.

Really looking forward to this. The Rush and earlier Cruisin games were good, simple, arcade fun.

Yeah, they did it with Daemon X Machina, Octopath Traveler, and Devil's Third as well. Supposedly huge Nintendo exclusives that didn't do exceptionally well, so Nintendo let them put their games elsewhere.

Those games aren't 1st party, so I'm not sure Nintendo had full control over them in the first place. And I don't think they were huge exclusives (though it should be noted, Octopath did a couple million). But they do own the other IP mentioned, so that's definitely evidence of Nintendo willfully choosing to allow games they own on PC.

Though it does seem many 3rd party exclusives on Switch also go to PC, which, maybe one wouldn't mean much, but the fact so many do I think is evidence of the fact Nintendo doesn't mind so much, at least for IP they own but don't develop in house, or 3rd party exclusives.

The Cruis'n Blast theme is the best yet. It takes a few times hearing it to grow on you.

I read a study on music and why so much of it sounds so similar nowadays. I guess humans gravitate toward familiar sounds and melodies, certain notes and sequences of notes. When you hear something that's different, sometimes it doesn't sound as good... at least, not at first.

But then once you've heard it a few times and that familiarity grows, you start appreciating it more. I feel like that's exactly what happened for me with the theme song to Cruis'n Blast.
