I haven’t been a huge gamer in years. I’m not sure if I should get the switch or not. I am 32 years old. I was mostly wondering about the adult and nature games. Is there a good bit of games for adults on the switch? Or should I wait awhile until maybe another version comes out? Not the OLED. I also am comparing the ps5. My last console was an Xbox 360 that My brother bought. Through the years I just didn’t game much. Had older Nintendo consoles.
Absolutely it has a brunch of adult games (like skyrim, Doom and Doom eternal, the Witcher, lots of resident evil classics and other horror games for instance). But if it will be your only console the question is if you will take advantage of its portability or if you prefer a 4k system (if that is the case go with a PS or Xbox)
That’s great. I also like Mario, Zelda, etc. I am into shooting games. It’s just that I’d like to find the right games I’m interested in. I’ve looked a little on their website.
As for controllers, I'd advise you to buy a Pro Controller straight away, and use that to play on TV, instead of using the JoyCon with the included JoyCon grip. It's okay to start with, but a Pro Controller is WAY better, and the benefit of it is that you'll then instantly have two controllers, which is always handy for the odd visiting friend or family member, who might want to join you for a game or two...
Ive heard rumors about the switch pro. Then they just came out with the oled. Do you think it’s better to just wait like around Christmas time for a new switch? I’m not sure just like anyone else that actually knows when that is coming out. Also what games can you play online? Also I’m happy there’s mature adult games. I like that there is a different controller.
@Nin89 There not coming out with a new switch, I think the only one you would get is a switch OLED but thats about it. as for adult games, trust me, they got a lot, and a good line up.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

There’s a ton of “adult” games (eg outer worlds, immortals Fenyx rising, Bioshock, dark souls, etc). But don’t be afraid to pass up something that looks like it’s not necessarily geared towards adults, too, is my suggestion. There’s a lot of great games out there. A quick Google of “switch “ and whatever genre you like usually turns up good results. The eshop and Nintendo’a own site are pretty terrible for searching for something unless you go in knowing what you want.
I’m not really worried about the graphics. I’m more worried about the library of games. I think it’s all good with Nintendo. I think that it’s also cool you can take it with you if you decide to like go portable.
Games with beautiful natural environments
1. Yonder the Cloud Catcher Chronicles
2. Portal Knights
3. Dragon Quest Builders 2
4. Animal Crossing New Horizons
5. Go Vacation
6. LEGO CITY UNDERCOVER
7. Earthlock
8. Super Mario Galaxy (3D All Stars)
On my purchase list, i have written 100+ Switch games to buy with 45 Switch games have been purchased.
I only play kids games with a few rated Teen games that suitable for me.
The last Nintendo system I had was a GameCube. Then I got away from gaming for awhile. I also questioned the durability of this console, games, etc. I never knew that switch games were actually cartridges. Which is cool. I think just by getting this switch I’ll learn a lot. Since it’s been awhile since I owned anything Nintendo. Or played anything Nintendo. Nothing against the brand. Just how life happened.
@Nin89
Welcome to Nintendo World.
I have 12 different video games.
7 Nintendo games (GBA, NDS, 3DS, Gamecube, Wii, Wii U, Switch)
5 PlayStation games (PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, PSP)
But unlike majority users here, my games library are completely different, only consist games for kids games by majority and a few teenager games, no adult games whatsoever because i hate adult games with very inappropriate contents. And I played mostly not so popular games / obscure games / cartoonish games / girlie games.
I only play kids games with a few rated Teen games that suitable for me.
@Nin89 one good thing about the switch for people like you and me (last system I played before switch was N64 [was PC gamer for a while after that, then just didn’t play much for a long time]) is that there are quite a few old ports. While I can definitely appreciate there’re lots of people not too happy about that, getting the chance to play some great games I missed over the years is pretty awesome.
Yeah, absolutely get a Switch. I'd make a very strong case that a majority of the good, good games on Switch aren't rated 18 but deliver mostly much better experienced than 18-rated games. Witcher 3, Skyrim are some I've heard good stuff about but pretty much any Nintendo-made game's an easy rec too. Breath of the Wild, maybe some Fire Emblem, Dragon Quest (very dark despite the kiddy aesthetic, and absolutely worth it), and many more!
The only thing I worry about is the switch becoming outdated. Like the oled I heard isn’t like a huge upgrade. At least that’s that I heard. The switch came out in March 3, 2017. I haven’t played a single game. Should I wait for the oled when it comes out? Or should I even wait longer for a whole different one and not the oled? Like I just don’t want to buy something and it be like happy to have it for awhile and enjoy all the games it gives. When I was younger we had Super Nintendo, n64, and I rented a lot of games back then. But I feel like I missed some. Probably due to not noticing certain games came out.
The other thing is I think being my age back then I kind of stuck to certain games. As well as whet I rented. So I probably missed some games that were good.
@Nin89
Never too late to play any games even they are already several years ago.
Just move on from stigma or mindset of playing old games / outdated = suck.
Even for old games but if you have never played before it will counted as a new experience.
I have purchased a 20 years old PS2 game Keyboardmania 1 & 2 that I have never before played.
The number of years doesn't really matter.
I only play kids games with a few rated Teen games that suitable for me.
I’m going to be unpopular on a Nintendo forum. But if you’re looking for adult games and play mostly on the TV, playing casually and not sure which games you really like, Xbox Series + Gamepass it’s for you. Yes, the switch has adult games, but they all look and perform much better in Xbox and you get to try tons of games as part of your subscription. Owning all PS5, XSX and Switch, that’s the one I would get given the needs described here. Xbox Series X is the preferred option but Series S is also a top choice if you don’t want to spend top dollar.
