In the latest issue of Edge, they have revealed some new details about their upcoming game:

• More general info about their upcoming game:
  ''Without giving the game away, I think it's pretty obvious what kind of game we're making from the history of the team. We consider it a spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie. We want to make a game where you control a fun character, learn new skills, add some new twists to the genre, and also listen to Grant's tunes!''
• Chris Sutherland had been planning this venture for around 3 to 4 years now.
• They've got all the funding covered for their first game, all that's left is a publisher. Again, stresses on the fact that they'd like to see the game on the Wii U.

Why they don't make cute characters like Banjo and Kazooie and their friends/enemies?

@Nintyman That wasn't this game they were talking about back in 2012, or at least, nothing happened back then.

''Talk of a spiritual successor emerged among some former team members once before back in 2012, but Price stresses that the latest initiative has real substance. ''Last time it was a pub conversation – nothing was ever acted upon. This time, we've started to work on the game, we've got funding in place to support us and we've got a longterm business plan,'' he says.''

Stuff looks awesome! One of those silhouettes looks like a buffer version of Trophy Thomas. XD

Hmm, I'm guessing those are NPC's. They haven't revealed the actual protagonist designs have they?

I think you're mistaken the scope and size of its head.

I think he's wearing something like a vest.

They haven't. They don't resemble the characters from the teaser image either.

Guessing the fourth one is a monkey duo.

I was actually expecting them to reveal the main characters (which I don't think any of those are).

Can't wait to see how this progresses, but I got a feeling we're in for a looooooong wait.

Hopefully, the main characters are cute and funny like Banjo and Kazooie and what we have seen are just enemies.

I'd love for this to happen! Nintendo should buy up Not-Rare right away!!!

IDK if I want to see Nintendo buy the studio, but they should definitely try and release this game for Wii U. This game is probably going to be more successful on a Nintendo console than anything else.

As long as it's on the Wii U I'll be happy.

Amen to that. I'd take Banjo-inspired-cute over Skylanders-inspired-pseudo-badass any day.

They just confirmed that David Wise is part of the team. Remember that amazing soundtrack from Tropical Freeze? Yeah, that was his work.

Just to clarify; we're talking about David Wise AND Grant Kirkhope, both are working on this game's soundtrack.
