Don’t forget you can refill your batteries; the ones with a ! at the end of its description are disposable since you can’t take them with you on your next mission.
So finally got some S and S+ ranks, which was a relief. Was starting to think I was just crap at the game.
I feel like I’m playing a mashup of Wonderful 101, Bayonetta and Arkham Asylum, it truly is an awesome experience.
Can’t wait to unlock the other Legions, especially the dog type one. That looks soo cool.
@NintendoByNature The purple liquid on the floor is the main difficulty with this boss battle, as you may have seen your movement is severely limited if you're in it so the arm legion can quickly get in lots of attacks on you. Don't have specific advice outside of that as I mostly beat it by luck and healing a lot.
Okay, so, wow... what a ride this game is. First impressions; it’s very fun, deep and more varied than I thought it would be. But I’m also bit conflicted. So first the goods; the combat is very, very awesome. I’m amazed at how well the dual combat works; you really get to pull off great moves and it largely makes sense and feels right. I like that there’s just that bit of extra exploration if you take your time and look around. So again, combat is working for me, except for the bigger dudes. I had one very anticlimactic “win” against one the earlier bosses after using 2 batteries and taking more medicine than I would like to count.
So I just stopped playing, but something doesn’t feel quite right. I started doing what looked like an easygoing quest, a bit of detective work and solving some riddles(very fun), which became more involved and dangerous, exploring a twilight like dungeon. Which is great. But. Then you complete it. And return to normal world. With a surprise attack and all. Which. Is still great. But it just keeps going and going! Now I’m at twilight again.... Where is my breather!? I need to save dammit! And now I’m stuck following a legion, not knowing what to do. And I need sleep because yesterday I didn’t really... so, sleep well....ngguuuhh.
The "Saving..." message at the top of the screen can be easy to miss, but the game automatically saves at reasonable intervals (usually after every major combat encounter or exposition dump). You can check the save file timestamps in the load menu to see when the last save was.
On file 3, so not too far into the game, but gosh dang does the Astral Chain just keep getting better.
I swear they threw the kitchen sink at me in that last battle. Pt Standard is no joke. I was thinking about lowering the difficulty but I would like to keep getting ranked if possible. I just don’t want to bite off more than I can chew. Maybe I’ll just prioritize stocking up on healing items in case
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Zachariah 12:10 (500 yrs before Christ)
They will look on Me whom they pierced
Casual mode or Pt Standard? (Btw I love how the use the Periodic Table of Elements to abbreviate Platinum as Pt)
I switched to Pt Standard but, I’m thinking it may be a little too brutal.
I started off on Pt Standard until I hit a tough boss battle (the three headed wolf), so I reloaded the game and switched to casual (or whatever the setting is), and it felt absurdly easy to the point that beating the boss wasn't even satisfying, so I reloaded the game, switched back to Pt Standard, and that's where it's going to stay!

I started it last night and played up to the end of the training missions and I wasn't quite sure what I thought of it but I've just finished playing Gate Crashers there and wow, bloody hell, what a game! It's unbelievably good, I love it. I really wish I could keep going but it's gone 5am.
PT Standard has been... pretty easy for me honestly. I'll be very glad when I get to replay on a higher difficulty. But as someone who's played pretty much all of Platinum's previous games at highest difficulty levels, I'm not one to give a guideline on difficulty.
@link3710 I will say, sometimes it is pretty easy and other times it seems utterly impossible. But casual is a little too simple so Im sticking with platinum unless I run into a really difficult boss i can't beat after 10 tries

Even though I haven't mastered the controls just yet, it feels so satisfying when you get it right, moving from platform to platform, chaining your enemies and dealing huge damage via combos. I think this game makes fighting look even cooler than Bayonetta did.
This game will probably be a 10/10 for me. I can't stop playing.
So, if your healing shortcut is X, how is it you can assign skills to X also? I don’t get it.
edit
Never mind. You have to hold ZL and press X. The game doesn’t tell you this afaIk. Thank goodness I stumbled upon someone mentioning it by happenstance in a random forum.
