Next Thursday we've got Steredenn and the Tuesday after that we've got Danmaku Unlimited. So even if nothing else takes my fancy I'll still be a happy camper.

I'm running low on storage space, I've got 6.9GB left of my 128GB card. There's some demos I can delete which will probably take me up to about 9GB but Outlast 2 comes in at 9.7GB so before the end of the month a new 128GB will be needed. I don't want to go down the route of archiving games, doesn't feel right even if I don't play them. I've spent money on them and once archived I'm unlikely to ever play them.

@OorWullie Storage is gonna become a problem for me as well really soon.
Right now I still have 24,7GB on my 128 card and that's with 122 games/demos on there.
Still have quite a few physical games that I haven't even opened yet and I have quite a lot of games that I would still love to get, both digital and physical ones. The Japanese only musou games for instance.
Warriors Orochi 2 Ultimate, Spirit of Sanada, Dynasty Warriors 7 Empires, Dragon Quest Warriors 1+2 and One Piece Pirate Warriors. But I'm still holding off on importing them in the hope that at least a couple will get brought over here. Although, if they are digital only, I'll get the Japanese physical ones anyway.

Ran into this exact problem with my Vita's and thus I'm buying everything I can physically on Switch from the start. Even holding off on some games like Celeste for instance with the hope of it getting a physical release soon. You just never know these days.

BTW, is it possible to just buy a second 128GB card and swap between two cards without any problems?
I know this was impossible with the Vita because the system would have you format certain things and you'd need to go through a new system setup every time you wanted to switch, which made my buy multiple systems and multiple 64GB card... Not ideal to say the least.

@meppi64 I have 2 64gb cards, one for retro / 1st party and the other for third party. Swapping is easy but I think the UI suddenly becomes a bit cluttered. All the icons still appear, but any game not on your card has a cloud icon next to it. It would be so much nicer to just have the icon of the current game in the cart slot and the games on your memory card...but I guess that would require a longer boot up.

@meppi64 Thankfully yes it is. I didn't think it was possible either until I tried it. I was using a 32GB card and when I got Doom I was unable to play it without downloading the multiplayer update. I put that onto a 16GB card I had and was able to switch cards without issue whenever I wanted to play it.

Thinking about it, since I have that 32GB card I'll just stick some of the larger games I've got that I don't play much as well as a few others to fill it up, so I can free up 32GB on my main one. That should see me alright for a while.

@GrailUK @OorWullie
Ah, that's great to hear actually! Very happy Nintendo thought this through.
The extra cloud icon is pretty much like the empty card icon on phycial games then. Really handy.
Although, it could indeed be even better if it somehow hid the games not on the card.
But looking at how basic the UI is right now, that might be something that get's added some day.

And yeah, having to rebuild the database to check for which games are on the card would add quite a bit of loading time I think.

Good to know that when I run out of space, I can put some of the bigger games on another 128GB card and still use them without having to redownload them over and over again. At least till we get 500GB and 1TB cards that are decently priced.
I know, I know....but let me dream okay.

I really would love to see an implementation of folders though as scrolling trough everything looking for a certain game that I haven't played in a bit can take a while.
Would love to see an implementation of the 3DS system actually where folders could have their own design and such. How nice would it be to see a big old AES to click on that houses all the Neo Geo games. Or an arcade cabinet to put all the other arcade games in.

@meppi64 Hell yes! I'd love those folder icons you mentioned. I'm still good with my 200GB SD card for now. Although I probably should check how much space is left.

I try to buy all my full retail games physical and then go digital for the arcade and indie eShop games.

By the way, talking of the Vita. I still have mine (and a PS3) and play some of the great PSP arcade collections on there still. Also the Sega collection on PSP and PS3. Sadly, there's no real online to speak of with many of these collections. No Leaderboards etc. However, i'd still be up for adding you folk as friends on PSN. Ditto 3DS. Some great arcade games on there and a far superior gaming activity log.

Talking of other gaming systems. I'd be very interested to hear what arcade hardware anyone has. I'm using a raspberry pi with RetroPie on it with MAME and assorted emulators. I'd love to built/own a custom cabinet running MAME or even a real piece of arcade machine hardware one day. Alas, having two young children and wife kinda means all my hopes for a man-cave to put all this in is slim to none 😂

Still got my Vita, a couple actually. Never really sell off systems or games, well besides a recent cleanup of PS3/PS4 games that I was not into anymore. All "mature" shooting games and things like that. Really tired of that genre of games right now and I've been going back to what made me fall in love with games to begin with. Arcade style games, or Japanese style games along with tons of indie games.
It's been a long time since I played on my Vita actually, since I got my Switch. Barely play on my PS4 these days even, besides some EDF 5 once in a while.
Everything should be the same: meppi64
So if anyone wants to add me, be my guest.

I don't really like playing on emulators and thus I pretty much never do this. Although I can see myself building a big old school, professional looking arcade cabinet to put a PC in and run MAME.
Alongside a nice pinball table.
But that's all a dream at this point as I have tons of work to do on the house itself, and thus plenty of pennies to save up to get all that done.
This crazy Switch release schedule isn't really helping with this. lol Just pre-ordered Kirby and Owlboy at base.com for instance.

My 3DS code is the following: 0344-9268-6757
I've been going though the Picross games before bed as I completed the Switch one. and I really want to get going at all the RPGs on there that I neglected after getting my Vita.
Really in the mood for some Shin Megami Tensei games. Never played any of them before and I love the atmosphere of what I've seen thus far.

@meppi64 Added you on PSN and 3DS. Stuck my 3DS code in my sig in case any others on here still use there's and fancy being friends.

Perhaps one day we can exchange notes and progress as we build our own arcade cabs for MAME 👍

Meant to raise this before now. There are a lot of Konami retro games and other PC-Engine titles still hitting the Wii U virtual console. The shooter BLAZING LASERS for one. Just curious if anyone has been buying these or is playing anything currently on their Wii U? I've still got plenty of games on my backlog for the system and every now and then eye up some of the virtual console stuff. Do you think these releases will ever come to the Switch?

@Lroy I didn't buy much VC for my Wii U, just some GBA games as well as Super Mario World, Super Metroid and Starfox 64. I did buy loads for Wii though including several Turbografx games. If I could pick 3 that I'd love to see come to Switch they would be Lord's of Thunder, Gates of Thunder and the incredible Rondo of Blood, which is in my opinion the best Castlevania ever made. It absolutely nails the gothic horror theme and the music is superb.

I doubt I'll be going back to playing on my Wii U anytime soon though. I loved the console but it's rare for me to go back to playing on past consoles unless I have nothing else to play. I can't see that happening anytime soon with the Switch around.

@OorWullie Some great titles mentioned there. I've still to play and finish a CASTLEVANIA game despite having many of them ☺️

By the way, I can now see you (26th - 2, 839, 500) on the SHOCK TROOPERS scoreboard. I've managed to drag myself up to 30th on the Global Leaderboard with a score of 2, 784, 000. That may well prove to be my best score realistically. Even if I can't add to it. I'm well happy considering I started this challenge outside of the top 200 places.

Good luck everyone on our final runs on SHOCK TROOPERS tonight. Been another fun week and I'm really appreciating the experience I get each time, improving dramatically from when I first start playing the chosen game to my final score. I may not be at the top of these Leaderboards but participating is no less significant in terms of my gameplay enrichment.

Really, really exited to see what game gets picked next. Whomever wins tonight - think @retrogamerandrew and @qualitybeats are the front runners with @masterleon not far behind - do let us know asap what your pick for next week is.

Cheers 🍻

Sooooo... had my Switch collected today to fix my joycons.... won't be able to partake in any challenge until I get it back.... hopefully sooner rather than later
So basically my scores for this challenge end as it follows, both unregistered but at least with a picture
3475500 and 3258500. You guys can decide on their veracity, no problem either way as far as I'm concerned
