Topic: Anybody else feel like the switch is in a slump?

"I have specific tastes in gaming and unfortunately Nintendo is not providing me what I want" is a very reasonable take to have and I wish that was the point being made instead of the console somehow being in decline. That was my opinion for the 3DS era of Nintendo half the time tbh, but I didn't think it was simply because it was bad or whatever (and that's despite 3DS having far fewer games on it).

@kkslider5552000 thats about how i feel with the Switch right now, especially with Nintendo as a game developer. To me, I'm feeling Mario, Zelda, Splatoon, Animal Crossing fatigue. So much so that I actually started playing Dark Souls and Bloodborne on my PS4. But that's just me y'know? If someone else is loving all of that right now then good for them - that's a great place to be.

Yeah, for context Ninty did publish 11/12 physical games last year (with 12 depending on your take on Mario Kart Live) which isn't that bad but with the caveat that it was alot of stuff I wouldn't touch myself. I have found the last 6 months to honestly have been a big improvement where I've bought just as many Ninty games in those 6 months as all of 2020 and even the games I'm not getting I still recognize as big releases, plus I'm expecting for things to pick up for the rest of the year now.

If I get 2 out of new Fire Emblem/Zelda/Donkey Kong/Bayonetta/Metroid/Pikmin/Star Fox/Fatal Frame or a cool looking new/returning IP (which doesn't seem that impossible imo) I'll be happy in addtion to the thrird party games I'm already getting.

Yes, there is too much shovel ware indie games that are ridiculously priced, and Too many ports of wii u games priced way too high. Their major ip franchises are taking way too long to come out: Metroid/Bayonetta/Shin Megami Tensei ,we talking about games that was announced before the switch was even released. They ruined Zelda by making a mosou style game that is canon to the lore of breath of the wild, knowing that the type of gameplay is not for everyone. And now with this skyward sword remaster there will be no major differences but the game will still be released at full price on switch.

Only SMT5 was announced before the Switch came out and is releasing this year. The other two were post Switch launch date. Whilst I agree those are taking too long to come out, the issues is rather they just shouldn't have been announced yet since Ninty fans aren't accustomed to games being announced way in advance like how other publishers do.

Also Hyrule Warriors isn't a Zelda game hence why it's not got Zelda in the name. It's a Zelda spin off which no more ruins Zelda than Mario Kart ruins Mario or Pokemon Snap ruins Pokemon. I wasn't overly fond AOC as it took the battlefield elements out of the first game in favour of you just smacking everyone yourself but considering how much I liked Cadence of Hyrule I'm more than happy for them to continue with Zelda spin offs personally.
