I get around 200,000 points from the Academy for my house and I get around 120,000 points for the 2nd blue house. The blue house has my sushi restaurant as it’s main room and all the wedding furniture is upstairs

For shooting stars, i found the exact date on my island but i don't know if it will be same date on your island.
I found on 7 June 2020, 6 July 2020 and 25 September 2020 has shooting stars started from 7 pm.
And you can exploit more Star fragments by Time travelling. (For example wishing the shooting stars on 25 September 2020, find the star fragments on the next day and return to 25 September 2020 again for wishing more shooting stars)
@BrittGOAL14 Given how my flowers are still going strong, I think the balloons will be okay. I placed some of them around my island - I put them in a diamond formation so that they look like the colored buttons on the SNES controller

@Anti-Matter Yeah it seems like the shooting stars/meteor showers are completely left to luck. You just have to check in daily if you want a shot at getting those wishes made. Also, I'm not judging how you play but time traveling is not my thing. I just go at my own pace whenever I play AC.

So, about that latest update. Watching the trailer, I got the impression that we'd be able to visit random islands while dreaming. Turns out, you still need that damn code, so that's basically the same as visiting your friends. UGH.
You basically consent to your island being viewed by anyone. Why couldn't Nintendo add random dream islands. It would add SO much more to the game, especially for those with few NSO friends. (Well, I guess it's another case of Nintendo being Nintendo again...)
