Typically in place of fossils, yeah. If reviewers didn't find any maybe Nintendo have changed them to appear only during seasonal or holiday updates?

I'm wondering what to do. In the end I guess I'll have to get it digitally, but I was planning on trading in some games to gamestop in order to get the physical edition. But with the virus and it probably being in bad taste to bring in games for those poor workers to handle, I guess I may just have to wait a bit for the game if I can't afford the digital purchase

Lawdy that 91 metacritic score has me all kinds of excited. The highest rated entry in the series to date. There's little doubt this game will dominate my time until Xbox Series X arrives later this year. If I were to coldly disregard the global turmoil being caused by CV, I'd say 2020 might go down as one of the greatest years in gaming I've experienced in the 35+ years of enjoying the hobby.

Got my copy today, been playing for a few hours. I love it so far, never played any of the previous games. This 1 rocks, so much to do and the animals are very cute. I like the design & the OST. A really nice game to play during the corona panic.

I do hope the early/review copies simply never had rain yet, and the gyroids are still in the game. People could time travel and see if they can get rain to show up that way...?

Oh, could you tell me how many villagers i can ask them to stay on island as you play the game ?
Hopefully at least 10 villagers.

@Anti-Matter You start the game with 2 random 1's going to the Island with you, I only got the game today so I haven't had anyone join my Island just yet(other than the 1st two). The beginning of the game is a bit slow, I ordered a house and it'll only arrive tomorrow (in real time) so yeah gotta be patient lol.

Has anyone seen any other grass patterns than triangles yet? Any sightings of Brewster, Kapp'n, Tortimer or the pelicans?

@Joeynator3000 I Googled it and it seems like there is indeed rain. Snow too. Why wouldn't there be?

But no sign of the gyroids so far. Maybe they are unlocked far into the game. Or perhaps they will be released in the free updates.

This is my first AC game. I still had some coupons left and were about to expire so I decided to give it a shot. Might be a nice distraction from all the corona stuff. Oh, and I got it today because the store closes tomorrow due to the virus.

@Joeynator3000 Yeah, I feel like they have to be incorporated somehow; they're such an iconic feature of the series. I also hope Redd and the art gallery and Brewster show up at some point too, since I haven't heard any reviewer talk about those yet.

My only guess is that they're in a later update...I just hope I don't have to wait an eternity to get them...

Yep... that's classic Animal Crossing. It's a slow-burn.

After you give Tom Nook a few bugs/butterflies, the owl will move to the island, it wants 10 fossils/fish/bugs in order to open a museum. You can catch/find them all over the island. I can now travel to different Islands or let people join mine. I got the game sooner than anticipated, so as a result of that I have no 1 to play with lol.

The customization is awesome by the way, you can buy(using Nook Miles)extra hair styles & extra colors. So if you're not content with the selection of hair/hair color at the start of the game, no worries, you'll be able to purchase better hair/hair colors as you play the game & make more Nook Miles.

Btw, i wonder if everytime i reset the game like ACNL before, i can regenerate different maps, different native fruit and different starter villagers.
What is your native fruit over there ?
Is there any Time travel option (Asked by date and time before playing)?

I read online today (sorry, don't remember where) that you can change the time/date of your game by resetting th time/date on your Switch.

I push bought digital thru the shop you can download the update at 6pm PT.
