Is Thursday the day?

Say something to keep investors and fans subdued .

Thursday is the day they release Donkey Kong Country Returns HD and it doesn’t look like they want to overshadow it with the Switch 2, so probably not this week.

DKCRHD admittedly is just a port of a Wii game with added 3DS content, released in January to avoid a dry month.
I don't think Nintendo will be that worried about hurting that game's sales.
Like how 2024 had a surprising number of ports of older games like Luigi's Mansion 2, and Paper Mario TTYD.

@MrCarlos46 While I see your point I'm not sure I agree. DK returns returns is not a high profile game and it will still be compatible with switch 2 anyway. Heck they could show it as software in the reveal trailer to build hype.

@RupeeClock @Mothertroid No reason to wait to reveal something bigger if what’s currently in store is just ports of older games.

Surely the Switch 2 release would at least mention that upcoming Switch 1 releases like Metroid Prime 4, and Pokémon Legends Z-A will both look and play better on the new hardware?
Like that's the usual reason anyone gets excited about a hardware upgrade, and this is for a system dogged with a reputation of software underperforming with low resolution textures and renders, and 30 FPS caps.

@RupeeClock Maybe they can be cross-gen games with enhanced performance and textures when played on Switch 2

We may have figured out what the C button is for. Not confirmed yet but we’ll see if that’s true.

@MrCarlos46 Having it just be for a chat would be a let down for me tbh. It's good to have a better chat, but honestly, I was hoping C was for something more new and exciting. I doubt I'll make much use of it.
Also weird that the button is labeled C rather than with an icon like most other non-game buttons.

Same; a chat button is not something I would ever use. I'd prefer a new button which actually added something to games.
