@FishyS I think Yoshi absolutely needs a demo given the controversial nature of its gameplay. Personally I’m on the fence because I’m not sure I’ll like the game.
That said…you could argue that is a reason not to give it a demo, should the demo be offputting…
@Buizel I'm surprised it doesn't have an eShop demo since there was an in-store demo and Good Feel usually has demos. Like the Peach Showtime demo, a Mysterious Book demo would only give you a taste of one part, but I still think it would be useful.
@Buizel
It really should have a demo. It's pretty much the perfect game for a demo: since the game doesn't have any kind of real order to it, they can give you a pretty wide range of experiences with just a few non-sequential levels.
I played the whole thing and saw the credits. It was "fun" for the most part, but I have no desire to fully explore it. Each level relies on a new primary creature/gimmick, which is fun, but each level also relies on completing lots of checklist-type discoveries. Some of those discoveries are genuinely fun and natural-feeling, but quite a lot of them felt arcane and sometimes even frustrating to me.
My Switch 2 just had a notification that MH Stories 3 DLC was downloaded and ready to play on release date so it looks like the Rudy side story has been moved forwards from Fall 2026 to June 2026.
Alright, I've come around on something. I've never purchased a copy of Minecraft in my life, despite wanting to play it eventually. Originally, I was thinking of picking up a Switch 1 physical copy of Minecraft at some point in the future. But then, in the recent Nintendo Direct, they announced a Switch 2 version of the game. And I've been mulling it over ever since. I keep hearing about the Switch 1 version having things like performance issues, plus, just having the graphically enhanced Switch 2 version of the game sounds kinda nice, especially if the price is the exact same as the Switch 1 version (all versions of Minecraft that don't include any extra random fluff have been no more than $30). And if I'm getting it on Switch 2, there will definitely be updates since my Switch 2 is connected to the internet, which means I might as well get it digitally considering how small the game file size is (it's about a gigabyte and a half last I checked, unless the newer versions on PS5 and XBOX Series have bigger file sizes somehow), digital storage for it won't be an issue. And honestly... I'm okay with the game getting updates and adding new content every once in a while. As long as they keep the classic experience of the game intact by not massively changing any pre-existing things, I'm happy. Also, I was talking with a friend who plays Minecraft, and they say that as long as I don't try to access the online content, it shouldn't prompt me to create a Microsoft account at all, which is exactly what I want.
Perhaps if there's a launch discount, I'll pick it up at launch 🤔? If not, I'll most likely wait a bit if I do end up buying it, which has become more likely as of late.
@Nep-Nep-Freak yeah, the "bedrock" version of the switch port (the most current version) has well known performance issues, especially as updates kept coming. playing it on switch 2 does make it way better, but you'd still be better off with the switch 2 version, not even just for vibrant visuals but for an actual good draw distance.
file sizes mostly rely on worlds, so don't make too many and you'll be fine.
remember; your chicken parm is not safe around me!
